Great - cheaper than downtown - free golf
We stayed here rather than in city. We went into city everyday but the last day when we played our free round of golf.I stay in Chicago a lot for business and it is a hassle. In the city my company had a room for $140.00 a night but with $54.00 parking charge and $38.00 room tax two nights was over $500.Not at this quite resort. Much cheaper and my son and I played golf. The family just drove into the city each day and drove back and relaxed at night. This is the way to visit the city.

Quiet and clean hotel - to be recommended
pros:- friendly staff- very clean rooms- quiet surroundings- two bottles per each day complimentary (because it is a Marriott ressort)- parking free of charge- highspeed internet (to be paid for; only free of charge for Gold Elite members)Cons:- the staff is friendly but one morning having had breakfast, I was completely ignored by the waiter. Prior to leaving the breakfast room, I asked him for the check and he told me that as I Gold Elite member I do not have to pay for the breakfast (this is correct). Explained that this request was made for giving tip, the guy changed its behaviour completely and asked whether I have any wishes... But is has to be emphasized again that all other employees of Marriott I had contact to during my stay were very friendly and gave me a warm welcome for which reason I will come back! Worth to know:- in the middle of a golf course (therefore it is quiet at night; no traffic etc.)- 25 minutes ride to the city center of Chicago (if you decide not to take toll roads)

A weekend to remember.
I came here with my husband for a FamilyLife marriage conference. We live just 10 minutes from here, so It was tempting to save the money and stay at home, but the weekend away is part of the intended experience. The hotel is modern, clean and comfortable without the rush rush and impersonal intensity I've often experienced with the downtown hotels. Still, on the mandatory Date Night, we found that there are several incredible restaurants (Gibson's, Za-Za's, Pappadeux) within just a few minutes. The relaxing environment and accomodating staff were very welcome since the content of the (excellent) conference was challenging for us and nerves a bit raw. When the bed was too soft for my hubands injured back and he was tempted to bail and return home, two gentlemen brought a plywood plank to make it harder. !!! The spasms started and when he discovered that they don't have a jacuzzi, (nothing says they do) they couldn't install one but comped his breakfast in what could only have been sympathetic good will. So he stuck it out, showing the spirit of "in sickness and in health". Kudos to honey and kudos to the staff going above and beyond despite his less than pleasant, but understandable demeanor. the desk called up each day to see if things were okay, and I got a call the Tuesday after, to "apologize that they weren't able to make things right" (only Surgery could). The rooms are dark and must be fairly noise proof because I heard nothing and slept fine, and we didn't get arrested or thrown out for our knock down drag out argument elicited by the "finances in marriage" session. ;) The breakfast at Windows was great, we had no trouble finding choices to accomodate his Raw and my gluten free diet. I asked the housekeeper for an extra bottle of conditioner, please and she looked at my long, long hair and handed me two for each day of our stay. Sweet. The only minor annoyance I experienced was the long wait for elevators between sessions, but, of course, there were 500 couples all attempting to go upstairs at the same time. I would not hesitate to recommend and would commend management for whatever they are doing to ensure such friendly and accomodating customer service. My best tip? the $20 I left on the table for the housekeeper that endured my marathon rant on division of labor in the 20th century. :)

Great customer service. Comfortable bed.
I arrived at the Marriott at the start of snowstorm Saturn. I'd had a terrible day and worse cab ride getting there, despite the snow not even starting yet. My cab driver had gotten lost and still had the nerve to charge me 1.5x the metered rate to go to Oak Brook ($84!). Clearly, I looked disheveled and annoyed upon checkin. They upgraded me to a really nice king suite. The bed was really comfortable. I was also informed that the hotel has a deal with a local cab company for airport runs at about $28. Look it up if you're going to be traveling there via cab.For dinner, I just went down to the bar in the lobby. They had a decent menu and the bartender was super nice. She recommended the pasta bolongnse. Unfortunately, it was not to my taste. She offered to get me something else but at this point I just wanted to go to bed/relax! 10 minutes after getting back to my room, I had a knock on the door. The bartender had sent up some chocolate covered pretzels and candied pecans with a handwritten note saying that she hoped the treat would make me smile and that she hoped I had a good night sleep/good day tomorrow. WOW! That really impressed me and was not expected. The next morning, checkout was swift and the hotel shuttle took me to a nearby office park for free. All in all, a great stay during a crappy storm!

Most comfortable bed I've ever slept in.
I came here for a conference and left knowing I had slept in one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. In fact there is a catalogue offering room items and bedroom stylings for sale. The staff are very friendly, and the hotel is spacious and clean. The food service at our buffet meals was generally pretty good with a wide variety of choices with the occasional dry chicken and overcooked fish dish thrown in. Amazing desserts! The only complaint would be that the served coffee was somewhat substandard, in other words rather tasteless. There is a Starbucks for those who like over-priced coffee. The bar is nice, just off the lobby with good local brew, but be advised that drinks are not cheap. The golf course looked lovely although I didn't use it, but the indoor pool, gym and sauna are well-equipped. There is also an outdoor pool which was closed during my stay because of the season. Conference rooms have adjustable heating settings, and the hotel is a quick ride from O'Hare.Smokers beware. You can only smoke out front away from the front door or out back. If you stand out of the wind near the front door during the day, you will get chased away by the zealous anti-smoking police. All in all, the place is perfect for golfers and conference attendees, but vacationers should find a place closer to downtown Chicago. If you can't find something else, you'll still be happy here.
