Great place, great price, ok location
My mom and I traveled to Barcelona to catch a cruise ship. We were getting in on Saturday to cruise out on Monday. Fira Suites was really reasonably priced compared to everything else out there. They do have an airport shuttle that luckily was timed perfectly for our arrival. The van was there when we walked out, it was great. Check in is at the Hesperia Tower, which has a really nice modern lobby space. They were very friendly and checkin was quick. We did ask about a mart/store nearby and were told that there might be some little shops down the road, but since it was after 8p some might be closed. This was true. We set off down the road and walked a ways, which I honestly would not recommend doing at night. We finally came to a gas station that had a few snacks and that sufficed for the night. Fira suites is NOT near the city center of Barcelona, however they DO have a convenient shuttle, they have 2 times for dropoff in the morning and 2 times for pickup. They take you to another NH property that is just up the road from Plaza Catalunya. Had no problems with the free wi-fi. The bathroom was interesting with a shower that was too complicated for me to figure out totally, plus there was only a half wall in the shower, so a lot of water did get out. Also door to the bathroom was glass and didn't 'seal' around it, it was not see through, but sounds carried easily and you could easily hear the tv while using the facilities. Was nice to have a fridge and there was a lot of closet space. Bathroom was a really good size. Overall recommend if you're not concerned with staying in the city center. Had to take a taxi to the port and it was about 30 euros.

The Hesperia Fira Suites,Barcelona.
The Hespira Fira Suites are situated in a pretty grotty location beside what must be (in a city full of breathtakingly beautiful buildings)the ugliest (in my opinion)buildings in Barcelona.However the inside is plush and opulent, and a complete contrast to the eyesore that is the outside.Back to the suites, they are self contained units that are quite dark and some of the furniture was quite tatty,they are hiding under a 5 star guise and are 3 star at best.The kitchenette was really badly equipped,there was no kettle and certainly no tea or coffee.The suites look out onto a very busy road,(whats new) but to be honest we didnt really hear the road.We had the misfortune of arriving on a Sunday and there was no where open to eat in the area (to be honest I wouldnt want to eat in any of the surrounding cafes, they looked quite dirty), so had to go into Barcelona to eat.Checking in was at the Hesperia Tower, which was quick and painless because the staff all spoke English, but we were surprised that we were given no advice about breakfast or the restaurant, or the free shuttle to the airport and to the centre.You are made to feel that you are in the inferior part and abit isolated as there are no staff in the suites,(apart from the cleaners) although there is a check-in desk so guests must have checked in there in the past but they have probably done this to save money.Getting into the centre takes about 20minutes on the metro which is only about a 5 minute walk.These suites are good value for money, but the area they are in isnt very pleasant,and if I was visiting Barcelona again I would stay somewhere more central.

Business in Barcelona
The Hesperia Fira Suites are a short taxi ride from the airport - 25 euros. The hotel does provide a shuttle however the times are not very often,Check in is at the main hotel, very friendly and fast service.The suites are modern , nice bathroom , lots of storage space.On the downside, the air conditioning had a life of it's own and kept coming on and going off again at all hours. My suite was very noisy as was overlooking a very busy road, even although I had requested a quiet room.There was a nespresso coffee machine in the room and pods are purchased at reception. There is no kettle which was a real downside and to heat water there was only a huge pan.....the little kitchen was very badly equipped with not even enough cutlery or plates.The metro station is a 5 minute walk away - across the busy road and then walk across a car park. 10 rides for 10 euros so great value.15 mins to Plaza Espana and about 25 mins to Plaza Catalunya (Las Ramblas). A few times we got a taxi and it was 10 euros so not too expensive.All in all I would stay here again as it was good value for money.

A little out of the way but good value.
Hesperia Fira Suites are located close to the airport and within a short walk from the Bellvitge Metro station.The suites are located 300 meters to the side of the sister hotel Hesperia Tower.They are mini apartment style rooms, which come with an adequately fitted kitchen, a separate living space and bedroom and a shower room (amazing shower, the water could be a little hotter though). A smoking room, so not ideal for non smokers but sometimes it is a sacrifice you have to make. Everyone seems to smoke in Barcelona so it is rather hard to get away from anyway.Checking in was efficient and the staff spoke English well and helped us with everything! The stay was comfortable and enjoyable, this was made even more so when the management acknowledged my partners birthday and left a surprise cake in the fridge for him!Even though it is out of the way, a free shuttle bus is offered into the city each day and evening so it doesn't matter that you are further out.

Comfortable with good service
I spent four days in Barcelona at this hotel. The suites are situated directly beside the Hesperia Tower Hotel, which is where check-in and breakfast take place. The area doesn't have a lot to see, mainly a large hospital, but has a convenience store and some small caf¿¿s as well. Checking in was very friendly, and the staff helpful, for instance by pointing things out on the map.Metro L1, five minutes from the hotel, takes you to Placa Catalunya in about 20 minutes, and also directly to a lot of other interesting sights. The metro is easy to use and efficient, and I never felt unsafe. By the hospital, bus 46 takes you directly to the airport in ten minutes, if the hotel-provided shuttle has inconvenient times for you.The suite had a main room, bedroom and a bathoom, ample storage space, personal safe, microwave and fridge. A TV in each of the main and bedroom was provided, which was comfortable. The bed did provide a good night's sleep. The bathroom is a bit dark, and the high-tech shower has a slow drain, but otherwise the room was very comfortable and nothing lacking. If you appreciate a modernistic style, you'll enjoy it.The breakfast was at the neighboring hotel, and was remarkable ¿¿¿ my best hotel breakfast to date. Personal, caring service and a very wide range of quality food was provided ¿¿¿ including hot (fried eggs, bacon...) and cold (spanish hams, etc) choices as well as an extensive range of ready-to-eat fruit and vegetables and good coffee. Starting the day here was a real treat!If going back to Barcelona, I would definitely book here again. If you don't mind an easy 20-minute metro ride downtown, I can only recommend it.
