Great Location
Lovely business hotel, that is very well located in Howard St (just down from Union Square, around 300 metres away).Room lovely, very clean, very modern. En Suite small but very functional. Hotel facilities very nice, the restaurant served wonderful food. Room service very good, staff very pleasant and willing to help you at all times. Concierge was excellent (thanks Bill) gave us some very good time saving tips (we only had 3 days in San Francisco). Shopping is excellent, lots of name brands stores in Union Square a short walk away (bonus that is where the Cable Cars commence), as well as Macy's and Bloomingdales very near by.

Green and good
The InterContinental is an LEED Green hotel, but it is not obvious in the service or amenities. As an environment-conscious traveler, I like staying at a hotel with this certification, but I don't like to give up comfort. The only thing I really noticed was the faucet in the sink--the tap has a low-flow output that is annoyingly slow and seems to take forever to fill a glass. But that's minor. The shower had decent water pressure. The bed was softer than I prefer, with a very thick "feather bed" topper, but was fine. Our view was of the buildings adjacent; not unusual in city center hotels.The location immediately next to the conference center is great for meetings there, and it is a short walk to Market Street and Union Square. There are some good restaurants in the area, but you have to look for them, The mall behind the hotel has a good food court on the underground level. Room service is fine. I was not impressed with the hotel restaurant--it was OK, but not particularly good in my opinion, and has a limited menu. The rooms have a doorbell, please-service, and do-not-disturb indicator, a feature I particularly like since those little signs can disappear. However, the room-cleaning service seemed to come by at 8 a.m. most days (before I was gone from the room, so the DND indicator was still on) and leave the little "we were here, but didn't bother you--call or press the service button for cleaning" card under the door. Somehow it felt like a reprimand for being a sluggard and not gone soon enough! The cleaning staff was always on the floor when I did leave, until noon at least, so I am not sure why this very early no-service notice was necessary.We had food delivered twice, and the hotel is quite careful about security before allowing delivery people onto the guest floors. Once they called to verify that we expected someone before allowing him up, and the other time he was escorted by a security guard. I found this a nice and reassuring touch, since I travel alone often.

Great style and location
A stylish and modern hotel close to the union square hub. Great access to shopping and sightseeing transport options. Beds are large and extremely comfortable.No fault of the hotel but the police and fire sirens seem to wake me every night.

Not Worth the Money
We used an Ambassador free night certificate to bring the very high price down to something reasonable for San Francisco. A room upgrade was not available so we were given access to the club lounge instead. Our corner room was large and well laid out, but the view was the side of a Moscone garage, so not too pleasant.I exerienced alot of difficulties with the wifi cutting out and was unable to resolve the issue even with support from IT. The work surface was ample for getting things done, but the desk chair was not adjustable so not very conducive to good ergonomics.Access to the Club lounge was a real amenity with hot and cold breakfast items in the am and an impressive selection of hot and cold hors d'ouerves and full bar in the evening. Luis, a server in the lounge was very pleasant and accommodating making sure that we had everything we could want or need.The location was a little out of the way of tourist attractions, but if in San Francisco for an event at Moscone it would be ideal. It's also on the fringe of SoMa abutting a more run down part of town.It was okay for a large convention hotel but I would never pay full price to stay there again.

Good Business Hotel Near Convention Center
I had no issues with this hotel. Here's the 1,2,3s...1. Efficient check in with no issues and got an upgraded corner room. 2. Room was functional, tastefully decorated, and had all I needed. I did not like the low flow sink faucet, but that's not a show stopper. 3. Convenient location if you're doing anything in or around the convention center. Close to Market street and waking distance to everything.
