Very, very nice plat to staff
I had another great stay for the second year in a row at the Crowne Plaza - Chicago Metro! Staff is very helpful, the room was outstanding, and the breakfast buffet was tremendous! I will be back again!

Very nice Downtown property
Clean rooms, convenient location. Property is up to date and I would recommend it. we love the fact the the rooms have a balcony. The sliding door shut air tight and does not let any noise in from outside. The roar of the city when you open the door is amazing.Only two things I have to gripe about our last trip. We called ahead and asked if we could check-in at 1 instead of 3 and they said we could. So we diverted from our plans and went to go check-in. When we got there they told us their computer system was down and they could not check us in. Seems to me like there should be a back-up plan. Minor irritation.The other gripe is about the forced 36 a night valet parking charge, but I guess it is downtown Chicago.

Staff is great
Stayed 2 nights. Rooms on the small side but clean. Great location. No refrigerator or microwave in my room but Mariano's is right across the street - it's like a domestic international market. Great place to grab a bite and people watch. Staff is why I will return. They were attentive, helpful, and made me feel very welcomed after a long train ride. Price was not bad for Chicago but I was part of a business group with a block room rate.

Nice Hotel
We stayed here recently for 4 nights. Everyone on the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was of a decent size, the beds very comfortable, and the bathroom was clean. We loved the shower, it has an adjustable arm with a rain style shower head. The room have balconies where you can look out on the city. I wish the room had a refrigerator. Also, the wifi is ok but not great. This seems common in most hotel. The elevators were a bit of an issue if more than 5 people got on at once (a bit odd)The location is in Greek town and and is surrounded by a grocery store (with full liquor available), drugstore, and many nice restaurants. The hotels' restaurant was very good.

Good stay
Stayed here for 3 nights during Bear Pride and had a great time, with the exception of a few details...I must say that this property treats Priority Club Platinum Members very well. Was upgraded to a suite (1727) which was excellent and had a fridge and microwave which proved to be very convenient. Also received a 2 free drinks at their restaurant and a lovely fruit platter along with 4 bottles of water showed up at my room too!Now for a little criticism:I wish they hadn't replaced the shower heads since my last visit. Maybe things are being standardized across Crowne Plazas, but the shower heads they had here last year were heavenly and I wish they hadn't replaced them! The Speakman ones they have now are OK but are certainly not up to the standard of the ones they used to have.Housekeeping ignored the DND sign on the door (yes, it was still up!) one time and let themselves in without knocking (or at least a knock that neither myself nor the other person in the room heard). This seems to be a major problem in hotels nowadays and it's quite annoying. Why they don't call the front desk to see if the room is still occupied is beyond me.Internet service rather unstable and/or slow at timesElevators broke a few times during the stay. For some reason these elevators could apparently only hold 4 bears (ie at 270-350 lbs each) at a time despite their 3500lb capacity and when at perhaps half that might break. One can only blame Mr. Haughton for that.Elevator machine noise was slightly audible from my suite. While a high floor is always good, I'd suggest asking for floor 15 or 16 to avoid the noise. Was on floor 16 last year and couldn't hear a thing.Food at the event was a bit lacklusterI would say that this hotel was certainly worth the $139 group rateOverall, a good stay with a few little issues, and I'd definitely come back!
