Nice business hotel, but not in the centre of the city
I stayed at the Hilton for a conference at the beginning of May. It does not look very attractive from the outside, and its in a residential area of Amsterdam quite far from the centre. However the interior was very nice, and the room was lovely. Quite big and well decorated. Breakfast was nice, but the meals at the conference were average.However the price was quite high.

Amsterdam Hilton
I read many of the reviews here before making plans to stay at this hotel and I just completed a 5 night stay. I can't agree with any of the negative comments I have read and I was thoroughly impressed with this hotel which is located in a great neighborhood and yet convenient to everything, just a nice walk or tram ride away. The hotel is not in the city center, and that is to its advantage. From the outset I should state that I am a Hilton Diamond member and I realize that affords a level of benefits which were excellent. However for those thinking about this hotel (or any other hotel) one most consider the overall property, the staff, the rooms, the ambiance, the location and the neighborhood and the context of the hotel within the city of Amsterdam. On all those counts this is a wonderful property and a great place to stay. The hotel is located a short tram ride or about a 20 minute walk to the museums and Amsterdam is a very walkable city and we enjoyed both the trams and the walk. The hotel is also a very short distance from a wonderful park- Vondelpark - and you can also rent bicycles from the hotel which is also fun, and you feel like a native. The park is less that a 5 minute bike ride and it's a great opportunity to explore another side of the city. As for the hotel, the service was excellent, staff was helpful, the restaurant for breakfast was amazing (free for diamond members) as was the executive lounge. Our room on the eighth floor was spacious and had a wonderful view. We found out you can buy transit cards (for the tram) in the gift shop which was very helpful. What we liked best about this hotel was its location which is in a very nice and quiet residential area. It's a short walk to the trams which can take you anywhere, but Amsterdam is a very walkable city and it's a nice walk to the Museumplein if you decide to do that. There is also a small park right across from the hotel, but my recommendation is make it to Vondelpark on foot or preferably by bicycle.Just a tip which might be helpful, for those arriving or departing by train the Schiphol Airport train station might be a better option than Centraal Station.

Not bad but in the middle of nowhere
Stayed for a conference. It was neat and clean, nice staff. But it's in the middle of a residential neighborhood, close to very little. As a result, nowhere to get a quick bite. Breakfast buffet was meh. Oh, and they disregarded my food allergy and poisoned me.

Felt like home with the help of friendly staff
Hilton is the name, yet I noticed that in different countries the level of service in their hotels is not exactly the same. After my staying in Hilton Amsterdam I may declare with certainty that this was the best Hilton I've ever seen, moreover there I met probably the best staff ever. I'd like to thank the team for making my staying comfortable, special thanks to all the concierges who always gave me directions I needed and many helpful recomendations on enjoying my free time in the city. Rooms and breakfast fulfilled the expectations I got from the room rates. Especially I liked nice toiletries (they even offered a bath tablet) and big tv in the room. But I should rain on my own parade a bit too. Dear Hilton management, if you are reading this, please consider providing free wifi in the rooms. It's more than ridiculous to chage for wifi in the room, and your 25¿¿¿ is more than a day-light robbery. One day I got connected from iPad and then from telephone and was charged twice that day. Please think about my suggestion as I' be happy to stay in Hilton Amsterdam once again one day.

Very noisy
Don't accept,to get the room 427!! It is close to the staff room and very noisy even during the night. I stayed for 3 nights and couldn't sleep at all.The staff is overall very kind except one woman at the breakfast room who considered that 10 am was too late ( the service closes at 10.30)
