Great location, simple accomodations.
Pros: Great location, right near the train station and a few minutes walk from the Grand Palace. Room was clean and fairly updated. Wireless was good, but only allowed on one device at a time.Cons: Shower didn't work, typical sit down French tub showers, which can be a little uncomfortable, but it worked. Told the front desk, they didn't seem too concerned. LOUD club under the hotel, starts at like 5pm so if you plan to come back for a nap or relax, don't bother - hard to do anything with the base a' thumping and the music so loud in the room, we were on the 2nd floor. The staff said the club stops around 10 because of the neighborhood...so we left to go explore and get dinner, but when we came back at 11 it was still going hard. I hate to sound like an old lady complaining, but we were beat and it wasn't easy to fall asleep to. If I had more energy I would have headed down to rock out with them, but on this trip I just wanted to relax! This is just an FYI if you're looking to hit the sack early on this trip.

Confortable but average
Indeed mot a 4 star hotel! The strong point is the location, just on top "Gare Centrale" metro station! Although rooms are quiet, clean and confortable. It require a deep refurbishment,to take care of small sign and broken things.Breakfast is poor

This is not a 4 star hotel by any stretch of the imagination! Internet does not work anywhere in the hotel. The TV does not work and the toilet seat was broken.It is in a very good location and the breakfast was good.But I won't recommend it if you have another choice.

Great location for sight seeing
This hotel is 2 mins walk from the Brussels central train station. Be sure you know where you are going as the train station exits and roads are not well signposted. The hotel is nice, the rooms are average size. The bathroom was a bit of an odd shape. The breakfast was nice and the lady there was very helpful each morning. Wifi Internet is fast and reliable. Tip - if going to the airport, simply get the train, it's on 16 mins and about ¿¿¿7 each instead of a ¿¿¿50 taxi.

Great Location and great staff
I went to Brussels in February with my wife, and picked the Hotel Centrale for its location, which is superb. It's minutes from Gare Centrale and metro, and close to the all the city centre attractions. If you want a city centre hotel, its ideal, and we had a good two days here.The overall area felt safe, but it was quiet in the evening. The passages around Gare Centrale seemed to be an unofficial homeless shelter, especially late at night. This might bother some people.Reception seemed to be managed by the one guy. Either he didn't sleep, or our shift patterns matched his. Other travellershave commented about the multi language skills of staff. The concierge was from Spain, but he spoke Catalan, French and English in addition to Spanish. Amazing, but seemingly normal for Brussels! The genteman was friendly and helpful.Brussels is a working town, and politics and administration is its business. So people start early, and be shared our first morning with officials in suits going over a report. We had the inclusive breakfast in the ground floor dining room, continental style with a few hot items. Other travellers have commented on the dirty crockery not being collected, and the buffet items not being replenished quickly. This was true for both of the days we were there. If I was in management I would take action over what seems to be consistent comment. Not what I would expect from a four star hotel, but I normally stay in budget hotels... Having an in room safe was a great feature. A mini bar was nice, but I always look at the price list and say no thanks!A few minor quibbles which were sorted out quickly (blocked sink and non working bedside light). I couldn't get the tv sound to work, and the internet worked fine on my wife's ipad, but not on my iphone. Would I stay there again? Yes. Would I go to Brussels again? Probably not, but that's a different story.
