A 'Fawlty Towers' experience that I wouldnt wish on anybody.
Was booked into this hotel for a 2 nite stay on the 24th Sept for a concert I was attending at the Aviva. From the moment we walked in the reception was a battle ground. The hotel was overbooked and the staff were desperately looking for keys and arguing about who did what. One couple in particular had booked in earlier in the afternoon, left their bags in the room and went for a meal. They came back to find the room occupied by somebody else who was sleeping in their bed. It would appear that 1 key fits all rooms in this place. We slept with a chair jammed against the locked door and still the door was unlocked twice from outside with people pushing in. The room itself was tiny and bare except for a tiny double bed (suitable for small smurfs), a couple of shelves, a portable tv and a chair. The bathroom was tiny with a shower that you had to squeeze in sideways. There were 2 small towels provided and NOTHING else, not even a bar of soap. I hardly slept as the walls were so thin we could hear people moving around and even using the bathroom next door. We had no choice but to make do as all other hotels were booked out with the concert goers. Everytime we passed through reception there would be another lot of guests complaining and shouting. I would not recommend this hotel to anybody. To me it was comparible to spending a weekend in a prison cell.

Stay away!
At ¿¿40 for 1 night in a double room I was expecting basic accommodation, but this takes the mick! The room is more like a prison cell(including bars on the windows!), which I dont actually mind on a short cheap stay, but the place is filthy. The bathroom is covered in mould, insects and just general filth. Also, we never had any hot running water from the tap or shower!! The guy on the desk just told me they would sort it out in a few days....a lot of help when we were staying 1 day and wanted a shower!Your better off paying an extra ¿¿10 to stay somewhere decent, I certainly will next time!

Great Location
Stayed here for 2 nights. Booked a double room which was shown on one of the hotel booking website as twin room. As we wanted a twin room, booked through this website. As we arrived, were told, the double room we booked had one double(they called) bed in a room. We were not a couple. Didn't feel like sharing a small bed since their double bed were not really for 2 adults. A receptionist were kind enough to look for any twin room (which they do have only few) available. But only room they could offer for us was Inop room with water leaking problem for the past few days. But they told us it is been fixed. So we took the twin room. This room's bath room doesn't flush much. Lots of stain on carpet. It is a college dormitory so I guess it is normal. No hairdryer although they do have shampoo and conditioner surprisingly. (also soap) they do have clean towel and sheets. Twin room is very spacious enough for 2 adults although its bathroom was very small. And off course, it only has shower. they have kitchen facility on basement if you need. Also washer and dryer for the guests. (and students, I guess) Location is perfect as it is just 3 min from Grafton Street/ St.Stephen's green and airport coach bus stop near Trinity college. You can walk many places no problem. If you are looking for hostels type of accommodation, this could be an alternative option for you. Every room has en suite shower room.

Stay away!
We stayed there for 4 nights. Which were 4 nights to much. The beds they are selling as double beds is only singlebeds, We were complaining about it and all they could say was "to bad, if you check out we well just find some other customers". The rooms look like prisoncells and the staff thought that "Customer Service" is a small town in Russia. When we walked to the reception to complaint, we had to stand in line since two other couples were complaining about the same. I can¿¿t recommend this to anyone, not even my worst enemies. Only good thing was the location. See pictures to see the size of the beds.

Not Recommended!
I booked Mercer Court mainly for its cheapness and location and having stayed in student accomodation at Edinburgh University i expected something similar. But mu room was on the ground floor, on the main road and was basic to say the least. A continental breakfast was offered at a special offer of 5euros. As for the room itself the bed was clean but only one pillow was available, the TV in the room didn't work and there was no remote control, the window didn't close properly the bathroom was adequate, towels clean but with just a bar of soap provided. I expected some noise but was woken up throughout the early morning hours by Dublin revellers outside my window! Reception / Staff: HelpfulRoom: Basic, Bare, no atmosphere at all TV didn't work, no tea /coffee facilities.Bathroom: Shower / toilet, sink, bar of soap. Towels cleanIf you want cheap accomodation this is for you but don't expect a lot!
