You get what you pay for......
A group of 4 of us decided to stay at the Bridge House. It was cheap but that is what you got. Our hotel room was at an angle. You got out of bed and you would walk into walls. ( No this was not pint induced) The beds were awful. They put a matress of uneven springs on a slab of wood. The shower had no water pressure and during one of my showers the water just decided to stop. It did resume after about 45 seconds. There is no internet in the rooms. The windows were worthless. It did not matter if they were closed or opened. The street sounds came through just as clear. The location is however perfect. It is situated directly across the street from the famous Porter House. I would recommend it to anyone traveling on a budget who do not require a lot of comfort.

Horrible night, bad mood staff.
The hotel is well placed, close to the temple bar and to the old city. The hotel staff was quite unfriendly. Internet only with credit card. Shower wasnt that good. But the worse of all: the bed was a nightmare, with springs quicking everytime you move, and too soft, so that se had back aches the next day.

Cheap but not so cheerful.
My sister and I booked a twin room at Bridge House for 4 nights. We were attracted by the cheap prices and very central location. The only transport we paid for on our trip was the bus to and from the airport. Everywhere else was close enough to walk which was brilliant.First impressions of the hotel itself were of the cramped stairs we had to drag our cases up to even reach reception. More stairs followed to reach our room. Luckily we were only one floor up but was still a pain to have to drag our stuff up the small staircase and I'd hate to be the person stuck up on the fourth floor! We reached our room (a quadruple for some reason) and had a moment of seasickness as we realised the floor was steeply inclined. Didn't feel particularly safe. The room was clean enough but the bathroom had damp and could have used a bit of paint. It was pretty drab but at that price we werent expecting luxury. The beds were comfy enough but we had the WORST nights sleep while there. The windows are pretty much invisible which makes the room a) chilly in the evenings and early mornings and b) NOISY. There's a pub right opposite the hotel which plays live music every night and, being right next to Temple Bar, the noise was atrocious. We both woke up several times a night for the duration of our stay.We didn't try the breakfast, preferring to explore early in the mornings, but we were told it was ¿¿¿5 for a continental. My biggest gripe was with how the reception worked. The staff were brusque and not particularly friendly, and it's all very well having 24h reception but I didn't feel safe having to leave my key at the desk when we went out. All you had to do to get the key again when you arrived back was to state your room number...which meant anyone could have done the same and got into our room! We saw about 5 different receptionists during our 4 night stay so how are they meant to keep tabs on all the guests? Very unsafe. We made sure to take all our valuables with us when we left the building. It was alright but I wouldn't go back!!!

Health and Safety - urgent warning
Okay folks, if you are visitors to Ireland, I would highly recommend you to bypass this really sleazy, filthy and faintly sinister little inn. My partner booked in over internet today, arrived at establishment at around 9.30, were immediately alerted by smell of secretions of bodies at bottom of stairs, arrived at reception and was informed by inscrutable goddess that this is not refundable. Proceeded up numerous stair until we reached Nr, 11, inserted rusty key in lock and was met by small area with spiral staircase leading up to darkness, my partner climbed stairs and even though very dark was able to ascertain that bed was already filled by snoring guy. Hotfooted back downstairs to well trained (by Communist cell) but not sociable by any definable measure and were informed that this snoring guy was fire alarm guy, yes fire alarm guy was according to lovely lady testing said rooms fire alarm system. Oh yes, so silly Irish people communicated in our limited way that we wanted money refunded or we would call Gardai (Irish Police) and low and behold wonderful light hiding under bushel girl immediately agreed to refund our money. Travelled home after this, never travelling to Dublin again. WATCH OUT, MIGHT BE CHEAP BUT YOU ARE NOT.

" never again " house
not worth your money... We had to drag our suitcases up 4 flights of stairs. The carpets smelled damp and moudly, the wallpaper appeared stained. Our room was small and no window. The only natural light was if the bathroom door was left open. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, springs poking into our backs all night. The room was very VERY hot and stuffy. It was so bad we moved hotel for our third night, which wasnt much more money but it felt like a 5* in comparison. Location was the only positive thing.
