My girlfriends and I recently stayed here before the Bike NY 5 Boro Bike Ride and cannot believe some of the negative comments posted. I called the hotel several times before we arrived and was pleased with the help I received and while we were there, they were very attentive to what we needed like having a safe place to store our bikes overnight. I can't say what the food might have been like since we left at 4:45 a.m. but the man handling our car was very prompt and friendly, even at that early hour of the day. I would definitely recommend this hotel since the price, for the City, was reasonable, clean and yes smaller rooms but you are in the City!!! Also, there are many good restaurants in the area that are good in various price ranges.

Overpriced and totally not worth it. Be prepared to walk among the homeless as you try to get from parking lot to hotel, about two blocks. The worst hotel ive ever stayed in. Tiny expensive rooms and a long walk to get there and a staff that couldnt care less.

Ok, I could whinge on about the plastic cutlery, paper cups and TV blasting away at breakfast - or the old lady next door with her telly making the walls of my room shake from time to time - but I'm not going to. And that's because everyone I've bumped into here, whether they be staff or guests, has been thoroughly friendly, delightful and engaging. This is a hotel with a good heart.

I stayed here with my family who wanted a safe Brooklyn neighborhood with shops & restaurants & good access to Manhattan. It is a bit pricey but right by the subway and near good dining & shopping. Nice place to stay near Manhattan. Would go back.

People who love New York, love the city and can over look much that they would not tolerate while on a vacation. That being said, I do see what the city offers but I also see the grime, crowds, and long waits. The Hotel Gregory offers all of this, the good and the bad.Parking is off site for $25. Then hope they give the right keys in order or you will wait, and wait, We eventually had them throw all the keys on the counter to locate our keys. The building is on the corner of 84th and 4th Ave. real close to the traffic, if you can't sleep through idling buses, subway train noise, and reveling in the hallways don't stay here. The entry is narrow and dark. One small elevator services three floors; if you're with a crowd you will wait.The bar is off the lobby, Built in 1926 the details of the bar are classic NYC and the bar tender was very nice.Our room was switched at their request and we accepted a HUGE corner room with jetted tub. The room included microwave, refrigerator, king bed, windows on two sides (very dark curtains and sheers on each), business style desk, flat screen TV, and only two draws to unpack. The people were nice except the desk clerk with the keys. Price for Sat. night $180. I see others say the price is cheap, I don't know, I'm not from NY.
