Clean, comfortable rooms but there is no reception which means you wander about the bar looking for someone to provide a key. Breakfast was good but the menu advertised fresh fruit and guinness wheaten which were both missing. Menu didn't look that interesting so we had evening meals elsewhere. I thought they would have made more of the fact that their chef has been on TV.

Stayed at the Balmoral last weekend (3rd & 4th May 2013) on a Groupon deal and had a fantastic time. Some of the reviews mention the noise and, to be honest, it's not the place for people who want an early night at the weekend. For those people who are well up for the entertainment, the live music was great - the bar had a great atmosphere and the folks throughout the whole hotel are very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the power shower was great- would have loved the view over Carlingford Lough but there was a wedding at the hotel so upgrades that might normally be available weren't an option. Restaurant 23 was outstanding - one of the best meals I've ever had - been telling everyone about it!! The breakfast was freshly cooked to order which is something I always appreciate - I had a really good omelette which made a change from the regular fry (although this looked pretty good too). Definitely going to try to get back as soon as possible.

Got a group on deal and can't believe our luck. Stayed Monday and Tuesday night in the phenomenal suite. View of Lough, unreal, room and bathroom stunning. Restaurant amazing, breakfast and service lovely, pub good crack, we were there for open Mic. The couple singing were just brilliant. Only gripe my girlfriend has was the bed didn't get made in the morning. Would highly highly recommend.

We stayed here for 2 nights, the reception desk does not seem to be staffed u go into the bar to get someone. We were shown to our rooms which was clean and perfectly adequate however the bathroom was a big let down approx 7 floor tiles were badly cracked and the shower head leaked.We booked dinner and this was perfect the food was superb so much so we booked for the next night. The view from the dining area is beautiful especially at night with all the lights in the distance. Breakfast was enormous we had to scale down the next morning. Staff were friendly helpful and courteous. Yes I would go back but PLEASE fix the bathroom. We stayed here mid week and it was quiet.
