Just a Touch Funky
The best thing about Central Park Hotel is the location, near 3 Tube Stations and within walking of distance Paddington Station. Hyde Park is just across Bayswater. Queensway, two blocks over, is a touristy street with plenty of places to eat and little groceries stores, along with a plethora of souvenir shops. To the east is Lancaster with a few nicer pubs. We booked the newer ¿¿¿quite¿¿¿ rooms below but were given upper rooms. The upper level rooms are older. We peeked at the rooms on the lower floor; from what we could see they did look nicer, no window but with AC. We stayed in two different rooms during our UK Holiday. The first room was good, the second room a bit more faded. The beds were clean and comfortable although a bit worse for wear, no bugs. There was no AC in the rooms, but there was a large window that could be opened. Our visit was April / May. It was nice to sleep with the cool breeze from the window, but I could imagine it would not be nice during a hotter month. There was a lot of street noise at night from a Malaysian Family Center a few houses down. This is not the fault of the Hotel, but at times the noise was ridiculous. There were enough electrical outlets, plenty of hot water and towels, the little refrigerator was only cool. I believe the fridge may have been on the door card power saver line. There is no ice machine. Glasses of ice could be obtained from the bar. But I soon found that the whole city of London seemed to be devoid of ice. The continental breakfast consisted of rolls, toast, jelly, dry cereal, juice, coffee and tea. One thing I did not like was there was no free internet and there must be a way to block other providers. We could use our carrier up until we walked in the door. I wonder how they did that. When we asked about this all we were told is that there was no free internet and if we wanted internet there was an extra charge. I don¿¿¿t believe we would stay at Central Park, Hyde Park Hotel again. There are plenty of 3 star hotels in area, I¿¿¿d look for one with AC, internet and aways from the Malaysian Family Center.

Poor.....
What's with all the decent reviews people?? This place is awful... it's clearly not been decorated since the late seventies, my nans carpet is more modern than the flooring in this place and she hasn't changed her carpet for 40 years!! Then there's the service... To say its slow would be an understatement!!!Avoid this place, there's loads of better places that represent better value for money.

Beware your credit card!!
I was there in the past, and it was a good breakfast and good sleep quality.Room size as expected in UK hotels, and very nice location. The only BIG problem I've got with this hotel, and IM sure it was here, is that I got later a problem with my credit card. I was traveling on a 10 days europe trip, and this was the ONLY Place in my entire trip where they took a copy of my credit card. (all other places was a automatic retain, not old way copy). That day I was wondering how will they do that on this very advance time.. any way I gave them my CC.One week later, while I was in France I received a call from my bank asking me that they where confuse of how much money I was taking out of my card in LONDON, and also kind of confuse because they where also having charges in Paris. At the end they proceed to block my credit card (thanks god I always bring a second card just in case of any emergency) but it was after several charges up to more than 6,000 US.After 3 months of filling this to my bank, and showing all the proofs that I was not in London but in Paris, the bank gave me all my money back. This wouldnt happen if this hotel would have taken a electronic copy of my card instead of a manual copy of it. I will never use again a hotel that will do this things manually, so I encourage the managment of this hotel to take care of it!

Good location, no breakfast
We were group of 30 people, stayed there beginning of May. Location is realy great, rooms clean. There was heating and hot water. The only strange thing was breakfast - there was just bread, jam and butter. If you want english breakfast you have to pay 5 GBP more and get almost nothing. I cant understand why they do that, but nobody will come again to this place, just because of that, which is pity, because hotel is nice.
