A formerly great hotel that has gone to seed
I have ALWAYS stayed at the Chase whenever in St. Louis and always considered it worth any extra effort (i.e. not located downtown) and expense. Not so my most recent stay. The Chase has become very shabby. I had paid a premium and was on the club floor. The pillows smelled of old sweat (not mine) and were lumpy. The shower curtain was badly stained and I don't think the windows had been washed in many months. The air conditioner buzzed so loudly it kept me awake. The engineer shrugged and said there was nothing he could do about it - it was an old compressor. Fortunately, when the door accidentally slammed, it knocked the AC noise down several decibels for awhile. The staff at the hotel are exceptional - its best asset - but the place has clearly gone to seed.

Hard to find classic hotel
I didn't complete my homework and I do not know who is a real owner of Chase Park Plaza.You still feel the spirit of the city and the place, and not the hotel chain regulations. Last hotel like this was reviewed in 1965 novel by Arthur Hailey.This is my second stay in one year.The personal trying it his best to accommodate

Never Again!
We decided to try the Chase for our most recent trip to St. Louis after always staying at the Ritz in Clayton. Never Again! This place is a dump. No amenities. Terrible service. An absolute lie to claim it's a 4 star hotel. Our room was cleaned only because we had to call downstairs. Dirty trays left in the room after it was "cleaned". A gift bag we brought thrown away. Do yourself a favor and avoid this hotel. Stay at the Ritz if you're coming to St. Louis.

Stately hotel
Beautifully appointed, extremely comfortable and clean. Suites are ridiculously large! Big sitting area, office area, huge bedroom, large bathroom. Minibar in the room. The bar and restaurant were also very good, and the pool is a sight to see. The only minor drawback is the large, old-school TVs (two of them in the suite!) but I don't watch TV much so it was no matter to me. I think it would look nicer to have flat panels, though. Overall, a very nice hotel.

Grand Dame
We spent the weekend here as part of a large wedding party. The main downstairs rooms are quite amazing and grand. Our room on the 3rd floor in main building was fine, no complants, although a bit small. Bed was quite comfortable. While the room faced the street (Kings Hwy), there was no noise in the room at all with the window closed. There was free wifi in the room which worked well. The bathroom was large and had both a tub and separate shower, all in marble. The staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful. Parking was an additional charge. There is a charming side street next to the hotel, Maryland Place, which has some small restaurants and boutiques - quite charming. Overall, a really nice stay at a wonderful historic hotel.
