The key to getting these deals is flexibility: The hotel name and street location will be shown after you complete a booking. By allowing our partners to maintain their anonymity during the booking process, Hotwire can get you hotel room deals that are significantly below published prices -- deals you can't find anywhere else.

When brand-name hotels have rooms that would otherwise go unsold, they use Hotwire to fill them, so you get them at Hotwire Hot Rates -- prices lower than any other travel site, guaranteed. For us to bring you these great deals, we can't give you the hotel or street address until after you book. Once you book your room, we immediately confirm your reservation and show you the hotel's complete details, including its name and exact location.

To help you book the hotel that's right for you, we clearly list the city area where each hotel is located, along with an area map. In larger cities, we may also provide a description of the area's character, and a list of local landmarks and attractions found nearby.

With hotel reservations, the search results will show the base price (i.e., the nightly room rate before taxes and booking fees). On the next page -- before you make any commitment to book -- you will see the total price including all taxes and booking fees.

Please note that the nightly room rate charged to you may be higher than the amount Hotwire pays to the vendor. Tax recovery charges are assessed only on the portion of the nightly room rate that Hotwire pays to the vendor for the hotel room reservation.

In addition, please note that each hotel may also have its own charges - for example, parking, resort fees, convention fees, and energy charges. You will be required to pay any such fees directly to the hotel (usually at check-out time). Yes. We've negotiated such incredible hotel Hotwire Hot Rates that we have a Low-Price Guarantee for them. Within 48 hours of booking, if you find a lower price for your entire stay for an equivalent room type in the same hotel on the same dates, we'll give you double the difference. The Low Price Guarantee only pertains to the room rate exclusive of tax recovery charges and fees.

The lower rate must be available for booking; some sites display rates that are not actually available when you try to book. We do not guarantee that the total amount you pay Hotwire will be lower than the total amount you might pay elsewhere, factoring in tax recovery charges and fees. Hotel rates change all the time, generally based on availability and demand. Rooms at these low rates do move fast, so it's important to act quickly when you see a rate you like or risk losing it. Please note that all hotel prices are subject to availability and are not guaranteed until a booking is complete. It is possible for someone else to grab the last room at the quoted price before you finish booking.

All rooms booked on Hotwire will accommodate the appropriate number of guests in each room, based on the total number of guests you provided and the number of rooms you requested. Some of our hotel partners allow you to reserve your beds (e.g., king, queen) at the time of booking. Look for this indicated in the search results. If this option is not available, please contact the property directly. While we cannot guarantee that your request will be accommodated, our hotel partners will do their best to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Once your booking is made and Hotwire gives you the name of the hotel, you can call the hotel directly with any special requests. Our partners are willing to help whenever possible, but the ability to accommodate special requests may be subject to availability. If you have any special needs that are crucial, we recommend calling one of our hotel partners directly rather than booking through Hotwire.

You can book up to six hotel rooms at one time. (Remember that by selecting the maximum, you're limiting your search results.) We cannot guarantee that all guests will stay in rooms next to or near each other.

When a booking consists of multiple room reservations, they will all be held under the guest name indicated at the time of your booking. If you would like to have the additional room(s) reserved under a name other than the one you originally indicated, please call the hotel after booking (but before checking in) to change the name(s) for the other rooms. Hotels will not allow guests to check in to a room unless it is either listed under the name of the individual indicated at the time of booking or the guest is accompanying that person at check-in.

For all Hotwire Hot Rates, bookings are final and cannot be cancelled, refunded, exchanged, transferred, or changed, even for a fee. Hotel suppliers are able to offer their unsold rooms at discounted rates on Hotwire because we withhold their name until after the customer books and our reservations are non-refundable. These restrictions enable the hotels to better manage their unsold rooms, and are a big reason why we can offer you great deals. Also, credit cannot be given for any unused hotel reservations. Once you agree to make a booking on our site, your credit card will be charged for the total price shown -- regardless of whether the hotel reservation is used. In order to make a booking on our site, you must agree to Hotwire's Terms of Use.

For other rates, cancellation policies vary by hotel, as well as room type. You can find your cancellation policy on your confirmation email or My Account page, and they are also available for viewing before you book.

If you are worried about emergencies that will require you to change your plans, you may want to consider purchasing Trip Protection - a low-cost insurance program that provides trip cancellation/interruption coverage. Trip Protection covers unexpected events such as medical emergencies, strikes, natural disasters and bad weather.
