A really nice hotel
This is one of the better Holiday Inns I have stayed inThe place is clean, the staff have style and know just how to be polite and at the same time be friendly and pleasantI paid about 750 RMB/night including breakfast which for Shanghai is OK (maybe for the location of the hotel a bit high)The location of the hotel is great for business but if you are a tourist well better polish up your Chinese because it is a long way from everything that you may want to sightsee!! It is close to HongQiao Airport but a very long way from Pudong airport. Having said all this there is B&Q, Carefor, and 2 or 3 other outlets within walking distanceBreakfast was great - International and ChineseRooms were great. Clean and modern. Internet included in the roomAlso they have a small supermarket tucked away behind the breakfast restaurant which is also super for buying bits and pieces

Incredible value and beautiful hotel
I have stayed at this hotel approximately 8 times over the past 3 years and each time my stay is wonderful. The staff is always polite and professional and always very accommodating. They have an unbelievable breakfast buffet that is included in my rate which is never over $125.00. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. They have a well equipped fitness center and a nice lap pool. If you need to stay in this part of Shanghai, you could not choose a better hotel.

Close to Hongqiao
I stayed at this hotel a couple of times because it is convenient to the Hongqiao train station. It's much better than the Holiday Inn Express which is about a half mile down the road and rather sparse. The room was very clean. There was a bit of mold in the shower and it did not drain very well otherwise everything was fine. The desk staff are very nice and their English was appreciated.

Great hotel away from the worst of Shanghai traffic
The Holiday Inn Shanghai West is well situated for the business traveler that is not planning to stay in Shanghai. I travel mostly to cities within about 500km of Shanghai and this hotel is always my go-to base of choice. It is situated about 15-20 minutes from Hongqiao Airport (SHA) and the new Hongqiao Railway station, so I can get to most cities from here easily. The hotel is relatively quiet with an excellent and responsive staff eager to please. There are all of the things you would expect from a Holiday Inn, as well as a Family Mart convenience store on the property. The rooms are standard fare for Holiday Inn in China. Large comfortable rooms with all of the amenities. The glass top desk is a nice touch, and includes a very comfortable office chair. The bath was well equipped, although the spartan complimentary toiletries make it clear you are in a mid-market hotel, not the high-market hotel the rest of the surroundings imply.In short, this is my favorite choice when I am not visiting the city center of Shanghai, and just passing through. It saves at least an hour exiting Pudong, and is close to all sorts of transportation.

Outstanding Service
What a great place to stay. Maybe it is not the newest hotel or on the bund, but it's people and service are what keeps me coming back. The rooms are very nice and the food is just fine. They will make how ever you ask. This hotels staff knows how to provide top notch service
