Good Hotel
We have stayed at this hotel many times in the past and really enjoy the whole aspect of it. When you have breakfast or dinner looking out into the trees with the squriels running around is very relaxing. They have a car that will take you into Ubud but really the walk up the little hill into town you get to see all the little shops along the way. Everone we talk to say they really enjoy this hotel however with being said if you stay in one of the bunalows up top it is quite a climb back up from the great spa located on the lower part of the hotel. I think who ever stays there will like it.

Loved it
We were a family group of 14 ages ranging from 69yrs to 3yrs old!!! This hotel was fabulous for all. All the staff were wonderful and friendly, rooms spacious and clean. The hotel was in a great location, not in the middle of the hustle and bustle but close enough to walk into the main streets. We would do a day out and come back to the beautiful and tranquil retreat, relax around the pool or in the spa!!! I will defiantly be back with the family!!!!

Beautiful space
Upon arriving at this beautiful hotel we were greeted with refreshing cold towels, pink rice wine drinks and smiles. We were taken to our room which was a great size but smelt very musty and although the fan was not working this was promptly fixed the next day also we found a small pile of dust on the bed each day..obviously some insects / termites were having a feast in the ceiling. The receptionist who took us to our room was very eager to know our plans and offered to book a white water rafting trip and our transfer back to Denpasar on departure.(We found this with a few of the staff who were a bit too eager to offer trips and tours) What we did not realise was that we had been given a room directly above the fresh water pool that was being re-built and therefore the sound of drilling and noise permeated the tranquility. When we asked at reception why they had given us this room they immediately offered us another room. This one was closer to the other pool but was half the size, dark and also musty. We opted to remain where we were after being advised all works stopped at 430pm each day and one day there was thankfully no drilling!. Breakfast was ok nothing special..buffet style with eggs cooked to your style. Sadly the breakfast room was right next to the main road with loud traffic noise. The pool area was delightful with pool bar service and the spa area located closer to the river. No television in the rooms which was fine but wi-fi only available in the lobby area which was a shame. This hotel came recommended by friends and although there were some inconveniences it was overall very enjoyable. Be aware there are many stairs to all parts of the grounds so would not be suitable to all..the grounds are exquisite you feel as though you are in a rainforest with plenty of insects and wildlife around.The staff were mostly very helpful and always with a ready smile. The hotel is well located in Ubud and offers a shuttle service to the main part of town..or it is a 10 min walk up the hill. Bridges restaurant located 2 mins away is most definitely worth going too ! .

Tranquility & Bali charm at its best :)
My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights at the start of June 2013. It was our first time in Bali and we LOVED this hotel so much. Set into a tranquil tropical hillside with rooms styled in traditional Balinese architecture with thatched roofs and lovely stone work this hotel and its rustic charm captured out hearts. The rainforest surroundings were beautifully kept, with so many lovely plants, trees and flowers we felt at peace and at one with nature. The staff were fantastic, always smiley and courteous they endeavoured to meet our every need and were so friendly and helpful with everything. After a long flight and journey to Ubud it was refreshing to be met with a cold towel and welcome drink on our arrival. Our room was lovely, spacious with high ceilings, so it was airy and didn't get too hot quickly. Air con worked a treat when we did need to cool down. Bathroom had everything we needed, lovely fresh towels everyday. Our bed was large and comfortable. Our little balcony away the perfect chillout area overlooking the rainforest surroundings and river. The restaurant was excellent, we ate there twice and had breakfast every morning. Good choice of dishes, both western and Indonesian, well presented and value for money. We only had use of one pool area during our stay as the others was being renovated, but it was lovely and peaceful and not over crowded. Free wifi in the lobby area worked well end allowed us to Skype. The hotel also runs a free shuttle service into Ubud every hour, but it only takes about 10/15 minutes to walk to the main shopping areas and restaurants. For anyone looking for a relaxing break in charming surroundings, this is the hotel for you! :) would definitely recommend to anyone and would love to return in the future.

Unique and beautiful
Stayed here for 3 nights. A wonderful experience. Spa incredible. All in all a fabulous place to stay. Unfortunately the restaurant is very overpriced and the food average. Breakfast ok. Plenty of good places to eat nearby and the shuttle bus is convenient. Will come back to this hotel for its uniqueness.
