4th Stay disappointing
I stayed here 13 Oct for the fourth time. Clearly standards have fallen. Room 304 was generally cleaned very poorly. Carpets were grossly stained and stale smelling, half of all lights did not work including both bedside lamps, there was a ironing board but no iron, both shower faucet handles fell to the floor, the shower head spurted part of its water sideways, there was no body soap in its dispenser, the aircon did not work ( or at least no obvious way to turn it on). If you are travelling on business or want a hotel with a minimum class level, I don't recommend this striving dump. It used to be a great value business hotel. It however remains a good location but be aware Fri, Sat nights as the surrounding noise will ensure you are up the whole night the party with them.

Budget Price, Budget Accommodation
I stayed here with 2 friends and the check in was quick and easy. The receptionist recommended various bars and restaurants for us. Upon entering our room, which was a great size, we looked out of the window and straight into the bathroom of the units opposite...be warned if we can see them they can see us!! Plenty of coffee and tea provided, a fridge, cutlery and microwave. The room could have been cleaner...marks on the bedding made you wonder if they had been cleaned. It was a noisy hotel...both from the street and the lift is very old and clunky. On arrival back to the hotel after our evening out we walked in on the receptionist 'making out' with a gentleman so that was a bit embarassing. It is smoke-free but people seem to smoke on the rooftop. To be fair, it is budget accommodation and the location is superb if you want to see Kings Cross, you are seconds away from the heart of it all. It was an experience.

In relation to price and location, Lido Suites get an A. The location was perfect for what we needed, though as a result of the surrounding bars and clubs (on a Fri/Sat night stay) it was very loud. The room itself was probably the nicest budget accommodation I have ever stayed in, clean, modern and all in working order.Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. If you're younger, looking for a base for a weekend out on the town and don't mind the noise, I would 100% recommend this place!I've noticed a few people complain about noise and feeling unsafe.. my recommendation then is don't stay in the heart of Kings Cross. Some also complained about smells and dirt but I didn't experience either of these things.

never ever!
been there for a couple of nights as sydney was fully booked. money wasted really, bad welcome by the staff and poor assistance. had a room at 1st floor thin windows so can hear everything from outside. there's a strict smoking policy that can cause fines, but every night smoke comes in from the corridor. my room was close to the elevator, which only goes up, so very noisy.

Cockroach in the room.
The reception is a joke and really badly organised. There is a box on one of the desks offering free ear plugs for guests which suggests that, as others have said, there is a lot of noise. The hotel is not in Potts Point but rather Kings Cross. It is well located for the night life in that area and also very convenient for the Cityrail station and for buses in to CBD and it is also easy to reach Bondi Beach.My room was on the back of the hotel and not noisy and at first appeared to be quite clean however when I was packing I noticed a cockroach was walking in my suitcase. When I told the manager he told me that they had just fumigated and it may have been that that brought ther cockroach out. He then asked if, besides that, everything had been alright. No apology at all. Certainly would not recomend.
