Not All Accor Hotels Is Accor Standard
For short business trip to this area, its one of the upscale hotel but still far below Accor standard to my opinion. One should not compare Accor Shenzhen or any Accor Hotel in China (which I think is far better in food & comfort eventhough small) to this one in Dongguan. Each presents themselves differently under different business owner. Accor could have ensure certain standard is being maintained.Frankly we choose most product based on branding, this time the branding does not work for me.1. Breakfast is poor, setup is old, preparation of food is not hygenic & tray is not cleaned.2. Receiption is not familiar with Accor Adv Plus benefits.3. Room is spacious and acceptable Will not come back to Grand Mercure anytime soon for me.

Very good hotel
I do appreciate the spacious room,clean and quiet environment and especially great service.Next time surely I will choose Grand Mercure as usual.I hope this hotel will finish the re-construction soon as the air conditioner doesn't work efficiently but Max gave me the explanation.The breakfast has many choice.

First trip to Dongguan
The rooms are spacious & comfortable. Breakfast buffet spread has good variety. Chinese food from restaurant is excellent. However, rooms are not properly soundproofed, so we got awakened by the tooting of car horns early in the morning around 6- 6.30am. As hotel is located next to highway, & we needed to make a u-turn from highway exit to get to hotel, we encountered bad traffic jam at the u-turn coming back to the hotel during peak hours around 5-6pm.

Good hotel
The hotel has very good staff. They have many eating joints. The rooms are well maintained. They have specially appointed people to assist those who can not communicate in Chinese. The fare in the restaurant includes several American dishes.
