stayed May 2011.room was just ok. but compared to what else was available in the surrounding area it was wonderful. good business hotel i think. room service was good. there was a massage service opened late into the night so we enjoyed several hours of foot massage and fruit, very typical in china that i have seen.location was ok. needed to take a taxi to different areas. there is not much to see in dongguan from a tourist perspective. there were lots of industrial show rooms in the area. you may consider reading Factory Girls by Leslie T Chang before visiting, had i read the book beforehand, i may have recognized more or understood more during my visit.

Welcome to Houjie
The Sheraton is one of the older hotels in the Houjie area and its starting to show. The carpets and furniture are looking tired and worn out. However the staff are friendly and efficient and the food is very good. If your there for business its passable but not one I'd recommend for a vacation.

A good business hotel in Dongguan
I just spent 2 night at the Sheraton in Dongguan as it was close to where I needed to be. The hotel is fine , couples of restaurant inside.The Italian one was nice as I had a quick dinner there with a good selection on the menu.The hotel bedroom was ok - nice and clean but NO personality, laclk of furniture and the desk is SMALL to work on, but the bed was confortable, the shower worked, the TV line up is good and the internet connection was good (not from a China server but HKG) so as I said for few nights if you have some business close by a good option.. currently the road across the hotel is a big mess as they are building a subway line.

Very Good
Overall it is an excelent hotel, staff very nice, breakfast excelent, a lot of options, reasonable price, swimming pool is huge, the only problem is the construction across the street, the night i was there the construction was going on and on lots of noise during the night non stop. Not counting the cars at the street honking noise is very annoying.

Luigi's is very good
The Italian restaurant is good but avoid the Chinese restaurant. Ask for a room NOT facing the street. The honking cars are a pain. There is also major construction going on. The construction is going to last a while and when done will be a intercity train track.
