Stayed here for a few days whilst on business in Dubai.Hotel is located about an hour¿¿¿s drive from the airport, and one hour twenty minutes from the centre of Dubai. It is situated on a lovely beach front in a very quite area.The room I booked was situated right on the beach, and was very spacious and clean, with a good sized bathroom.I only had breakfast in the hotel which was good, with plenty space, with seating both inside and out.The price of the drinks in the hotel was really expensive around ¿¿10-¿¿11 for a spirit and mixer.The hotel was a mixture of holiday and business travellers, but I would say unless like me where my business was nearby, it is mainly a holiday maker¿¿¿s hotel.The hotel itself although good is never a five star as it claims, more like a 3-4.The hotel is also going through a lot of renovation work, even early morning you can hear the workers, and on speaking to the staff it appears it will be included in the Hilton Group of hotels and possible renamed later this year, hopefully then it will come up to the five star hotel it claims to be, as it does have the potential, and situated in a great beach side location, it should not be difficult to achieve a five star rating.During our short stay we heard two other guests complaining vigorously about something when I was passing through the reception area.Once more this is another hotel that still does not offer free Wi-Fi, even in the large reception area, please in this day offer free Wi-Fi. My recommendation is I would leave staying here until after the rebranding has taken place.

Relax in RAK Al Hamra Hotel
Very nice environment, nice beach, not crowded, the bar is overlooking the beach and the sunset, excellent relaxing moments.Rooms are spacious (I suggest however a more fresh decoration), service is good, prices are honest. Much appreciated the always smiling but efficient ladies at the reception. Ingredients for a relaxing weekend are there.

Successful come back
My husband and I visited Al Hamra Fort hotel in 2011 for the first time and enjoyed staying in the main hotel building. This year we have been informed that the hotel is offering villas only so we accepted.The room that we got was absolutely fantastic, on the beach with a sea view and all the luxury. At first I could not find the coffee maker, ironing board, bath robes and slippers, so I called the reception. All items were in my room in no time. The staff at the reception desk was excellent and all the people that worked there were more than welcoming and kind.The breakfast in the main restaurant was of a good standard and whatever extra you wanted the staff would bring to you immediately. The position of the hotel is good, you can walk around and visit a nearby shopping mall. In the evening we had a pleasant entertainment in the main restaurant.All in all, we had a lovely week there that we want to repeat during my next half term.

a fun alternative to Dubai
Travelled to Al Hamra from Dubai to spend a short weekend break with friends and family. The Friday brunch was simple but a welcome alternative to the overwhelming choices in Dubai. The food was very good and very reasonably priced. The facilities available for kids were a good (bouncy castle, face painting etc) but most fun was had just playing in the hotel grounds. The service was friendly and attentive. Overall an enjoyable and good value break from Dubai in a laid back, unfussy location.

Great Property, Average facilties and service
The property is great and spread over a huge area. But the facilities and service are mediocre and not upto 5* standards. The room also is good, but empty mini bar, a single soap, no bath room slippers etc. shows mediocre service attitude or cost saving attitude.Also any 5* hotel around the world nowadays will have a kettle and few tea bags in the room, but this hotel decided to save on this cost. I am used to drink warm water for medical reasons, but did not have any choice over here.At 1000 AED per night which is not cheap, a resort should have better facilities and service.Few of the staff members at the Friday Brunch were very unfriendly.Did jet skying and the staff over there was extremely friendly and helpful.The pool is small or medium sized for regular swimmers and not enjoyable.
