The good is that staff at the front desk was nice and responsive. But the rooms (and hotel in general) are seriously dated; air/fan unit loud and clunky (making it hard to sleep), and refrig also hummed like a generator (making it hard to sleep). Walls are paper thin. Food at restaurant almost inedible.

The rooms are horrible and there are stains on the carpet and floors. The parking area in the back does not feel safe. The $9.99 continental breakfast was poor. The bathroom near the restaurant has less than half of the bulbs working and you can read advertisements while you sit in there. The handle on the inside of the gate fell off in my hand when I tried to exit the pool area. The key cards usually work on the third or fourth time. This place is just not worth it.

Old, dark and noisy. The beds were clean, as I always check this first. But the room was very dark. One bulb was hanging out of the socket and not working, the others must have had really low wattage. Extremely noisy as we were next to where the housekeepers do the laundry and park their carts. Loud talking and laughing. They kept knocking on our door calling "Housekeeping", even though it was early and we were booked till noon for a one night stay after arriving at midnight. The handles on the bathtub were loose and just flopped back and forth. Luckily it was on medium but could not be adjusted with those handles. No free breakfast, as was advertised. Bought the $9.99 breakfast tickets and ate the rubber eggs and the weakest coffee EVER. The room was $130./night. Should have gone to the Holiday Inn next door, which looked brand new.

After staying in a bed bug infested filthy Ramada Limited in Redding, CA the previous weekend. I was hesitant to stay here due to the mixed reviews. With the assurance from my ex-husband (he has stayed here many times) we stayed here while taking my daughter to tour San Jose State Univerisity. On arrival I was very Leary, the parking lot and outside is not a reflection of the inside. Rooms were clean, trust and believe I stripped the beds looking for bed bugs. Rooms were small but had a sitting chair and ottoman ( I hate sitting on the bed) and a small desk. The court-yard pool area was relaxing. The only thing I could say bad about the room area, is the maids start cleaning around 7 a.m. and apparently have not been taught to use quiet voices. Probably not a problem for most travelers but being able to sleep in is a luxury for most of us. if the maids see a do not disturb sign hanging on a door it would be good customer service to lower their voices while walking by with their cleaning carts. While checking out we were given complimentary breakfast coupons. If you are looking to eat a carb filled breakfast, this will do for free. Nothing to complain about other than breakfast ends at 9:30. Don't let the bad reviews scare you away. This is a decent hotel for the price. Although we were there on a Thursday night, so I can't speak about the partying. I definitely could see where the pool would be an inviting place to party.

I'm in San Jose often for work, but have never stayed here before. After the negative reviews, I was a bit freaked out that our travel agent put us here, but honestly, it was fine. Keep in mind that this hotel is on the lower end of pricing for hotels in the business area near the airport, and expectations should be realistic.We stayed 3 nights during the week. My room was ok, a little small but not bad. Beds were comfortable, lots of pillows. Towels were older and rough, but lots of them in the room. Wi-Fi was a bit erratic, but did work. TV was older but still in good shape - good pictures and sound. My biggest complaint was the noisy heating unit, however my collegues did not have this problem (so not motel-wide). No problem with noise from other guests.Front desk staff were friendly, gave us directions to the nearest Starbucks with a smile. Lobby and front of hotel are very nice, recently redone is my guess. Plenty of parking. $9.95 for breakfast buffet is overkill - don't eat here unless you have no other choice.Overall - this won't be my first choice in the future, but if I have to stay again, I will.
