"Home" for 2 weeks
Just like most have said, this was very difficult to find; even the taxi driver had no idea. We arrived at night, so it was dark and hard to see....but we eventually found it. First impression---"where the heck am I and what have I done". I am used to more upper-scale accommodations and this definitely is NOT it, but once I settled in and got past the 'shock', Hotel Biz Jongro fast became my 'home away from home'. The decor is definitely quirky and different and the rooms small....but it fit it's purpose; a place to sleep and relax at the end of the day. The staff were absolutely fantastic...very helpful and delightful to talk to. It's very central to everything, which made getting around very easy. Overall I enjoyed the stay and would consider going back (can't believe I'm actually saying that...hahaha!). Thanks again, Biz Jongro, for a very interesting stay......

tricky to find but adequate
Tricky to find in the bustling narrow back alleys , but this hotel is a safe bet for the budget tourist. Most hotels in this area at a similar price are 'love' hotels, and slightly seedy. This hotel is filled with travellers, and has quirky cute painted halls and stairwells. The rooms are basic and small but have all your needs - wifi, aircon, tv with hundreds of channels (Koreans are obsessed with cheesy singing shows like Idol). The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the area is great spot to explore Seoul's main tourist sites such as the palaces, Hanok villages, Insadong, Namdaemun etc etc. Seoul is not set up for tourists very well, often if one does not know some Korean, it is tricky to find your way even out of the labyrinth subway stations, let alone get some directions (even for Korean speakers this is tricky!) but here is a basic place to gather your thoughts and dive into the giant city of Seoul, and it is nice in a way to travel a country not overrun by backpackers. The staff can assist with many things to get you around.

Quirky
Very hard to find! You have to take exit 5 out of Jongno 3(sam) ga and walk towards the Standard Chartered building. To the right of the building is a very small street (all the shops are on the left hand side: clocks, photography, a few restaurants with eels in tanks out the front) which you walk down and take the first right. It's about 20metres up this small street on the left. The staff are extremely helpful. My massive load of laundry was done quickly and with a smile. They printed out a map for my husband to find a cheap way to get to Everland. The room was small, and the bathroom tiny, but it fit myself, husband and 10 year old (although the luggage was moved around a bit). There's a fridge, hot and cold water dispenser, computer and toiletries in the room. Unfortunately, there is floor heating, which makes the room REALLY HOT. Our window was open 24/7 and we had to use the air conditioner frequently to get the room's temperature to a more comfortable level (about 20/21 degrees). The breakfast is very basic and where you eat is REALLY small, so you need to plan your eating time carefully. Otherwise, it was a fun place to stay. It's close to restaurants, parks and convenience stores. We walked to many places and caught the metro too in the four nights we stayed.

Great Location, a bit difficult to find the first time
This hotel is a bit "artsy" in its decor, which is fine. It was clean, and relatively inexpensive for being in the middle of Insadong, and near to so many attractions. It is off a but of a side street, and it took me a while to find it, but with help of a friendly local person, who enlisted the help of the police, we were able to find it. It is located in a part of Seoul known for selling musical instruments, and there are lots of shops around, and a variety of food options. It was within walking distance of many of the attractions in Seoul. The subway station is nearby, but is at the junction of three different lines, so the station is massive, but once I found it, I was fine. I took one of the hotel's cards with me each time I went out and gave it to the taxi driver when it came time to go back. Friendly staff, clean rooms, good service. I would stay there again if staying in Seoul.

Well located and very good value for the price
This hotel is just next to Insadong where many restaurants, boutiques, palaces and old wooden houses are in walking distance. It is near Crown Hotel which is more expensive and not as interesting.It is very clean, has a huge tv screen and a computer in the room ... it was difficult to change the corean keyboard ;-)The staff is very nice and you can make yourself toasts and coffee in the morning in a small kitchen.It is very well heated.For sure there is also a very nice hotel in that area with a great buffet breakfast, Doulos Hotel, almost the same price but it was full when we tried to book, so Biz Hotel is a very good alternative.
