Great location good rooms staff willing to help, cleaning of rooms and knowledge of reception staff dubious.
Great location, close to a lovely park, busses, subway, shops, restaurants etc.Despite the spitting, smoking, loud mouthed Chinese and Kamikaze drivers I liked it.I can't quite get my head around the Chinese psyche's concept of service.They seemed willing to help even when they didn't have a clue.The cleaning was rather below standard but ok. Unfortunately there were some guests, Chinese who insisted on smoking, yuk!Front reception staff's level of English was more than a tad below expected, although my Mandarin is considerably worse...But, I don't work at the reception of a large hotel which caters for international guests...

Do not botherf
A very comfortable bed, very poor for all else. The staff are surley and seem to be more interested in standing in a small group and talking than serving or helping. As a supposed 5 star hotel ( my rating 3 Star at best) I would expect someone to speek good English, but no. Some very bad attempts but not enough to get things done. The food in the restaurants is average, the prices are above average. If you wish to swim male or female must wear rubber hats, these can be purchased at the pool for only 60rmb $10 or 6 UK pounds. If you order room service be prepaired for a surpise, that is not the quality but the item that they send 50% of the correct items and 50% items not ordered. ALL IN ALL, STAY SOMEPLACE OTHER THAN HERE.

Nice rooms, but housekeeping could do a better job
The hotel room was without a doubt one of the best ive seen in Beijing. The amount of detail the designers put into the room can be seen when you enter.Pros:The beds were really softVery nice take on the bathroom designGreat view of the lake even though when i stayed it was frozen overSafety boxCons:The nobs around the shower and bath tubs were a bit grimy and needed some attention. The wifi was a bit on the slow sideThe tv channels were blurry most of the timeThe thermostat was impossible to setTips:Ask the front desk for a lake view roomDont take the drinks from the frige, they ARE NOT complementaryCoffee is under the TV cabinet

The most amazing hotel i have ever stayed in!!
This hotel is a must! It has taken me a while to actually write this review but I had to do it because I have recommended it to so many people! Whilst the hotel is actually out of the main touristy centre, it is so cheap and easy and efficient to take a cab everywhere. We actually took a cab to the Great Wall from here and was organised by reception. The facilities are amazing here, the view is fantastic and the pool/spa are is fantastic. The room was absolutely amazing and nothing was too much trouble. An absolute bargain price, with 5 star facilities and a real scenic location. If you dont mind taking a cab (so cheap) and you want to experience a location where the locals live then this is fantastic! I cant think of enough superlatives to commend everything this hotel did to make our stay one of the most enjoyable ever! See you later this year Radegast!

Beautiful room
Stayed here during a 4 day trip to Beijing. Room was awesome, large, great view of the lake. Requested a non smoking room and had to ask for a new room as smoky smell lingered in the bed. This was handled quickly, the manager even personally came to carry the bags to new room. We were told that there are no penalties allowed in China for smoking in a nonsmoking room. Bed was comfy with big down pillows and a down comforter. Bathroom had large tub surrounded by windows so you could soak and watch tv in the bedroom. Hotel provides 2 free bottles of water each day and had a tap next to sink that was labeled as treated and safe to drink. Pool was awesome, ceiling was dark blue with twinkling lights so it looked like you were swimming under the stars. Our only complaints were that the hotel is not really in a great location as far as walking to shop, eat or see sights. The buffet breakfast was great but the dinner selections were not as enticing. Some of the staff spoke English, calls to the front desk were passed from one employee to the next until someone could help you. Overall a quiet, peaceful trip!
