Avoid at all costs- disgusting
We arrived at this hotel in disbelief. It is a dirty, dingy, run down hooker hotel. My friends found rat traps with poison under their beds, used condoms, the rooms had a glass window separating the shower from the bed so you could watch your "roommate" shower. The beds were like concrete, old and thing and rock hard. Overall it is just old and rundown and disgusting. There appeared to be a brothel on the second floor. In fact, we arrived back late one night to find 4 or 5 young prostitutes in the lobby/front entrance area causing a scene, with one of them crying and screaming and the others trying to calm her. Meanwhile the hotel staff did nothing about it. Stay away at all costs. The online photos are a blatant lie. this place is a digusting rat hole of a "hotel".

Comme ci, comme ¿¿a...so so.
Stayed here for a couple of nights whilst in town on business.Its nothing fancy, cheap and clean and somewhere to use as a crash pad to sleep in , Guys DO NOT bring your special lady here for a romantic weekend, there's nothing special about it, just a cheap, conveniently located Hotel.

WORST HOTEL IN THE WORLD
The hotel is extremely dirty, stinky, gross and the lobby area smells like rotting garbage. The room was horrible, the carpet is filthy, the bathroom has mildew all over the shower and so does the floor. I was stuffy and sneezing for the entire trip, and I only stayed because I couldn't find another hotel as it was the Canton Fair and most hotels were fully booked. To add to that, there is construction going on on one side of the hotel. Work starts early in the morning and continues until 10 - 10:30 pm at night. It's impossible to rest. To add to the noise the hotel staff is also extremely loud and boisterous. I was on the 9th floor and OMG...they would be outside the door chatting and pulling things all times of the night. To complicate matters more, the hot water goes off at random times in the mornings and when ask why they say its for maintenance. I was told to wait until 12 noon when it would be back on. I ask why maintenance isn't carried out late in the night when guests are asleep but I got no response. Also, the staff speak very little English and so the simplest of conversation is a up hill battle. Also FYI, to call from desk from your room you have to dial the hotel's telephone # not 0 or any other one digit number. OOOHHH....if you pay for breakfast when you are booking, be prepared to wake up at 7 am because thats when it starts and ends at 8 am......Over all the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and I would not recommend it to a dog!!

Worst smelling reception area ever!!!
The recption area permanently smelt of decaying food, i suppose the reception staffs nose are now immune to smell form the strange look i received when i compalined about it.The rooms in this hotel look nothing like those depicted in the photo's, its a very dated and noisy cheap budget hotel, as against the futuristic clean and airy hotel the pictures suggest.

Nice value, clean and convenient
I stayed two nights at the Blue Sky Hotel in July. Chose it somewhat randomly because the location seemed pretty convenient and it wasn't too expensive. Overall, it was just fine. I had a room with two beds for about $28 US per night. Beds were a bit hard (but typical for China) but the bathroom was large and clean, and the room was fine. Staff had limited English, but knew enough and were very friendly. It's about a 7 minute walk to the metro, and there are also various restaurants/shops close by. There are probably dozens of hotels like this in Guangzhou - not too expensive, not too fancy, but perfectly adequate for budget or mid-range travelers. It's often hard to identify these places in guidebooks though, but Blue Sky is one of them.
