Great location for shopping
This hotel is a short 1-minute walk from Myeongdong subway station exit 3. The shopping streets of Myeongdong was a mere 5-minute walk away via Myeongdong subway station exit 6. The Namsan cable car station which could bring visitors to the N Seoul Tower was a 10-minute walk up the slope from the hotel. We booked a non-smoking double-room and were generally pleased with it. The room was clean and there was no smell of cigarette in our room. The bed was comfortable to sleep on and the bedsheets were clean. Tea-making facility, bathing robes and slippers were also available in the room.Free wifi was available in the room but the signal was weak and intermittent. I had to go to the hotel lobby for better wifi. We were surprised to find that toothbrush and shampoo were not free and were chargeable. We brought our own shampoo and bodywash but had to go to the convenience stores outside the hotel to get our toothbrush and toothpaste. The bathroom was separated from the bed by glass partition, so there was a lack of privacy and lights in the bathroom could easily shine through and disturb the person sleeping on the bed at night.

location,location,location.
Pros: Location's perfect. Just 1 minute's walk from Myeongdong stop exit 3. And nearby is Myeongdong where you can shop and dine. We were warmly welcomed by truely friendly staff. It's a 4 star hotel (In Korea, they rate as 5 flowers) and it's well equipped. Nice Mountain and N tower view from our room. Tap water's good to drink, however, if you'd like to make some coffee or tea, kettle's available upon request.Cons: Their beds are extremely hard with only sheet on mattress.

Not as floored as other reviewers
No doubt the location can't be beat. It was so simple to get from the airport to here. You simply take the AREX to Seoul Station, and then take Line 4 two stops to Myeong Dong Station. The station is basically on the front steps of the hotel. As for the Myeong Dong area, if you're into shopping...esp for clothing and beauty products...you're in heaven. There's the above ground area and the separate underground mall. What? Still not enough? No worries, there's a Shinsegae and a Lotte within easy walking distance. Also there are tons of restaurants, with a few quite famous ones. I wanted to book a more special hotel for a last few nights in Korea and chose this one for its reasonably good value. I guess b/c I spent more money, I was hoping for a bit more. First off, a great part of the hotel smells like cigarette smoke. We changed from our first room b/c of the smell. Our second room b/c the wifi was weak. With our third room, the smell was fine, but the wifi could only be dependably picked up in the bathroom. We decided to not be difficult, since they had tried really hard with the wifi issue. The beds are of the Korean type, i.e. hard. No shampoo was provided. We got sick, and decided to stay here our final night instead of moving to a hotel closer to the airport. We were quoted a higher price than what we found online. When we asked if they could price match, the supervisor we had been talking to seemed disinterested and turned us over to a receptionist, who simply said, "You should book through agoda." So we did and changed rooms, and though it was smaller, it was fine for our purposes. It's not that any of these things are deal breakers, but I guess some of the other hotels we stayed at during our trip spoiled me. They were all budget hotels, but the ppl that worked there just took great pride in their hospitality. Actually, some of the best hospitality I've experienced from all the countries I've visited.I'd still recommend the Pacific Hotel if you're looking for a large establishment in the Myeong Dong area. It will have everything you need, but the best part will be its location.

I've been to better
We stayed here in May 2013. When we arrived, they didn't have our reservation. We had to give them a printout proving we had made one. Then when we got to our room, it stank of cigarette smoke. We immediately went down stairs and requested a change. Our second room had no wifi available which we needed for work. They sent up someone to try to remedy the problem to no avail, so, they changed rooms on us again. The next room had spotty wifi but the smoke smell lingered. We didn't care at this point. Our reservation was through agoda for $75/night. It was a good deal. We wanted to extend our stay one extra night and went to the desk to ask. They told us it'd cost $165 a night. I went back to my room and rebooked another night on agoda then returned to sow them my new reservation. I don't get what they're thinking.i would have gladly paid them $75/night if they'd matched agoda's price. Now agoda gets a cut of their profit. Anyways, they made us change rooms again. This time I specifically asked for a room with good wifi. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask about a non smoking room, which I don't think they have. The room stank of cigarette smoke and the wifi is spotty again. If it wasn't for the price and location, this place would be a no go.

Best location
Myeongdong is the place where you go for shopping in Seoul, and this hotel located just 100m away from the subway station and the main shopping street of Myeogdong!Getting here is easy, just ride on bus 6015 from Incheon airport, alight at the last stop, Sejong Hotel, walk further up for less than 200m until you arrive at a traffic light that allow you to cross the road to the opposite side, then walk further 10m, turn left and you shall see the hotel. Size of room is not big, but sufficient; bathroom size is big though, with bathtub, and many amenities available, including hairdryer; minibar, TV with multiple channels, slippers, japanese yukata, free wifi throughout the hotel. My room facing wall have no view though, but I am fine with that. Very clean and more business hotel oriented.People don't go Myeongdong for drinks, but there are 2 convenient stores located just outside the hotel, where you can stock up drink, snacks, liquor and beer. I arrived early in the morning, after an over flight from Hong Kong, but they allow me to check in immediately, BIG credit for that!Walking on the road right beside the hotel will lead you to Namsan tower. You can access to the top by either walking or cable car, but I would recommend walking if it is during sakura or autumn season. The only problem I encountered during my stay was, they didn't turn on the air conditioning. And it gets quite hot during day time. I have to open the widow to allow cold air coming in. This is a hotel very suitable for those who is doing Seoul for first time and also for those who return for subsequent trip! Strongly recommended.
