Very good location
The hotel's best asset is the location close to the forbidden city, parks and Hutongs. Our room was clean but small, hard to place two suitcases. Breakfast was served at a room next to the roof top and there is some seating on the roof top but altogether it was still too small for all the people. Staff tried hard to refill but on the second morning we only managed to get some pineapple and coffee. On the same street as the hotel are some good and cheap restaurants as well as shops.

We stayed during 2 periods in this hotel, both times we had a nice and clean room. Location of the hotel is fantastic, just outside is a cosy narrow typical Chinese street with many small restaurants which supply good meals for a very reasonable price. And if you want a top meal just go for a 5 minutes walk to the TRB (although much more expensive). We enjoyed the nearby beautiful Jingshan Park and Beihai park. The back entrance of the Forbidden City is just a 10-minute walk. And a 30-minute walk leads you to the bar district, where you can meet a lot of people enjoying the busy terraces.

Nice Location
1. Most of the Cab drivers from the Airport were NOT familiar of the location if the hotel because it is located in the inner street, thank God I have built in Citymaps to Go built in App frm Iphone thats why I helped the driver locate this hotel. It took us 45mins from the Airport.Tip: Most of the Drivers DOES NOT SPEAK and Understand English. Bring in or Download translator from Apple or Google apps.2. Nearby 5 min walk to Jin Shan Park and Forbidden City3. There are lots of convinient store and market when you go out the hotel, you can buy cheap goods and food, but dont expect the taste, less salt but more oil.4. BOGUS ALERT! There are lots of BOGUS people around the area, you might get fooled and Victim of this Chinesse local, especially the people who will offer ride from the corner lot of ICBC bank and Red Wall hotel they will say CNY3 for them to take you to the entrance of Forbbiden City BUT they will fool you and tour you inside a way frm small houses and will get CNY300 and they will kill you to shout and death if you dont pay them. I've already forward there pictures from the Department of Tourism in China and hope they will be arrested from tourist they victim. 4. Near from Bus stop and Subway station just follow the color coding and follow the path it is easy to learn subways.5. Food is buffet on breakfast they dont offer lunch and dinner. Breakfast is the same everyday.6. Tip: HAVE a tourist guide to tour you, Beijing is very big place. They have different bus numbers on different route7. Enjoyed the weather , still snowing As of March 17, 2013 , Our tourist guide told us this happened first time in the whole life snowing til last week of March...8. There is no ENGLISH channels in television only one channel CCTV USA.9. It would be better if they maintain cleanliness of the carpet and smell of the hotel.10. Front desk works with English. The problem is my Keycard its always deactivated for almost 8 times.11. The view from roofdeck is dirty place. It would be better if they likewise maintain cleanliness of the area.12. Enjoy Beijing but the weather is unpredictable13. When you ride a taxi they should ALWAYS get tip or else they will shout on you.

Good Value in a Good Location
We had originally booked to stay in a hostel- Llama Temple International- that upon arrival we checked out of immediately due to its poor standard. We found King Parkview Hotel online and were very satisfied to find that it didnt cost much more than the backpackers and was of a much higher standard.We were about to be travelling for three months so couldnt afford too much, but this was great value and very comfortable. The rooms are clean and relatively modern. The staff speak enough English to be helpful and the breakfast is Ok- better to go down the road to Alleycat cafe. There is a strong smell of smoke at times in the hallways and the chinese guests can be quite loud in the hallways at night, but the location of the hotel redeems it for any of its imperfections.It is situated in a working hutong- old neighbourhood that are sadly disappearing nowadays and within walking distance to the Forbidden City. Keep in mind the blocks are massive so a seemingly short walk can take you much longer!

Clean and freindly
This Hotel is very clean and the linen is fresh.The towels are replaced every day and our room was cleaned also.We 3 middle aged women, where traveling with an Intrepid tour in October 2012.There is a Bar B Q area and a resteraunt on the 5th floor where we had Breakfast and there is a great view out toward the Forbidden City and it is very pretty at night.The breakfast menu is both Western and chinese and there is a variety to choose from.I enjoyed the food and it was fresh and healthy and the kitchen was clean.The staff where very friendly and helped us on a number of times.They booked a legitimate taxi for us the day before we left and it was there in plenty of time waiting for us.We would use this Hotel again,no worries.
