Decent place. Average locality
The hotel is a decent one. With average rooms. Locality is residential and with small residential marketsOpposite the hotel is a Carrefour supermarket. The only organised market.Basically just okThe breakfast is average and the spread is average or even minimalistic, the dining hall is good and spaciousFree wifi and average speed.

The Good, The Bad, and The Average
The Good: Great bed; affordable room rate; nice linens; great shower; very quiet; VERY dark room if you want to close the curtains and sleep in; good alarm clock.The Bad: VERY poor front desk staff (more interested on using their own mobile phones, horrible late night check in); taxis have no clue where this hotel is (even when you give them the hotel's business card); taxis require a booking call and often take 15 - 20 minutes to arrive.The average: breakfast (poor eggs, no bacon, superb coffee); proximity to Metro line (they have a shuttle at 9am that drops you off); smoke-heavy reception area.So, weigh the good and the bad and the average. Any way you slice it, this HIE is a decent choice for Shanghai. It just depends what you're looking for.

Easy hotel
Nice an peaceful hotel withbgod room rate (aprox 330 rmb ), close to subway line N 11 has standard rooms all the same, not toonbig but wuth the confortable Holiday Inn standard.The problem is that not many taxi are coming due the not traffic road which is placed.Near the cgannel, you can do joging because no much cars running on.Metro is at 5 min walk.

Solid if not amazing, convenient and comfortable
This hotel isn't the best Holiday Inn Exp I've stayed at recently but it's a decent choice for Shanghai. Affordable rates, comfortable and clean rooms. Service was efficient. It is very nicely located just a short walk (200m or so) from Line 11 subway. One stop from there to Jiangsu Rd on Line 2 which is a great line for connecting to downtown (20 min to people's square approx), and to Pudong business area (at least 30-40 min by subway). Line 2 connects to Pudong Int'l airport (ride would be at least an hour maybe more) and to Hongqiao Airport and Bullet Train station (about 30-40 minutes).Negatives: breakfast has very few western options, basically toast and coffee. Runs 630-1000am but by 9am most of the juice was gone. But a decent choice of fried rice, noodles, stir fried bok choy, etc, means you won't go hungry and you will only be disappointed if you can't open yourself to Chinese food for a day or two (and after all, although it is Shanghai, you are in fact in China). Generally the hotel felt a little dark and maybe ever-so-slightly worn down, but the room was clean and comfortable.Annoyingly the desk guy billed my credit card without asking if I would have preferred to pay cash at the end. All in all I'd stay here again.

Good value for lesiure travel
Stayed 3 nights visiting friendsLocation - Location is not really that far off from city centre but it is located inside a residential area and awfully quiet at night if you are not traveling by taxi, and not many taxis at hotel after 7/8 so you have to walk a very quiet street (no shops around, not much pedestrian either) to the street corner to get one. It is okay for guys but can be a bit disconcerting for ladies, especially if traveling alone. Lung De station is only 10 mins away but to walk there you also have to walk the long quiet road and the line stop at around 10 because it is not one of the main lineFacilities/Cleanliness - Decor is the same as in most Holiday Inn Express, room is smaller than Holiday Inn Express Zhabei but in reasonable shape. They do have a business centre and one restaurant (which only operates during breakfast/lunch/dinner time) but not much else. Most areas are clean.Service - Service is overall fine, when I arrived the reservation has been cancelled due to the fact I did not guaranteed it with credit card. It is in their right but I would appreciated someone calling me ahead, given the fact I am their member since 07 and another Holiday Inn Express did that (I forgot whether Zhabei or the one in Beijing Temple of Heaven). Room situation was tight but I was finally given a room on G/F, it was already 1030 pm and I do appreciate the arrangement, better than having to drag myself somewhere else that late to find a room. The staff was friendly enough and did arranged me to move to a higher floor room on 2nd day. The checkin incident was handled well and I am happy with it, unfortunately on my departure date it wasn't as well, I requested a late checkout which was given but not being recorded so I end up having to rush from my shower with shampoo on my head, first to talk to the front desk staff, then to answer the cleaning lady who came knocking on my door 10 mins later. That got me a bit agitated as I am sure 10 mins is enough to notify housekeeping staff on walkie talkie.Room - As I said the room is reasonable, smaller than some other express. It is clean, on the plus side, aircon works, which is not necessary the case in a lot of China hotel, bed is comforty and curtain block out light well so sleep quality is not bad. Internet connection is free but speed is kinda slow most of the time and no WIFI in room.Value - The room is at around RMB 350, which is cheap enough, area is quiet, it would be good if you want to chill out and relax but if you are looking for easy access to downtown this could seems a bit remote. I might not stayed again because it is not close to where I mostly visited but overall value is good
