Very unpleasant
Though we all paid the same for our rooms we had 3 completely different sized rooms. Rooms stank of smoke, shower had mould, wallpaper was peeling, exposed pipes in the walls. Staff could not speak or understand basic English which made it very difficult & cumbersome to pay. No Internet available while we were there!! Felt very unsafe as a woman.

Do NOT stay here!!!!!
My husband and I stayed there for 4 nights on our trip to Beijing. Worst four nights of our entire trip. Our hotel room was decent siyed, but very dirty. The first day we got there I took a shower and noticed a used toothpick in the shower room. The water from the shower also went throught the wall separating the toilet and shower, so every time someone took a shower the toilet floor got wet as well. The floors are some sort of cardboard faux-wood finish panels, and they also got wet and didn't dry properly during the entire time we were there. Our room has a glass panel window so there was sunlight coming through early in the morning (the hotel has a curtain, but it's very flimsy and doesn't help much). The absolute WORST thing though was the incompetence of the reception ladies. They INSISTED that we would have NO problem getting a taxi outside the hotel to take us to the train station (we also learned that they told several people they could arrange a taxi to come get them). Lo and behold, the day of our departure it was impossible to get a taxi! I asked the lady that spoke English (only one of them does), to call a cab for us and she said that was not possible since she didn't have a phone number for them. It took us 20 more minutes of trying to hail a cab until we asked them to hail one for us. They (very) reluctantly helped us and gave up after 5 minutes. When I informed them that we didn't arrange for other transportation since she ASSURED us a taxi was easy to get she suggested we go by metro or bus (yeah right, with 5 suitcases). HORRIBLE, horrible service. Disgusting bathrooms, paper thin walls (lots of shouting at night by the staff), and VERY mean recpetionists. DO NOT STAY HERE. It really put a damper on our otherwise excellent Beijing trip.

Good price for the location
Was a bit worried about this hotel after reading some of the reviews.It's a bit tired and small but it's clean and so close to everything.It's a short walk to Forbidden City, Tianamen Square, Metro stations and a bunch of great food.Really couldn't beat it for the price for it's location.The staff were able to book us a car for the day to go to the wall at a reasonable price and the driver was very good.Free wifi is also useful when trying to plan the day's activities.

Think it twice
Think about this, you've been travelling for about 18 hours, you are tired , smelly hungry and you just want to get to your hotel and you get there "easily" ( after hours of trying to get a cab and getting it to understand where are you going, cause no taxi driver speaks english).You are at the front desk and nobody speaks english, after hours of sign language you finally get your hotel room and notice : 1 an awful smell of cigarrette , sweat , dirt and other disgusting things.2 the walls are falling apart covered with mold.3 The bathroom has falling ties, mold in every corner stains in the bath tub and the wc seat.4 the bed could well be missing because it is as hard as stone.5 the air conditioner and vent did not work.6 and try to get outof there , if you can.When you try to get a cab, front desk wont help you, instead they will try to make you hire the local driver who will gladly take you every where for thrice the price.In Beijing local people dont speak english not even those in the tourist industry so getting around is extremely difficult and frustrating.By all means hire a guide to help you out and avoid this hotel.

Avoid - unless budget is tight and you plan to be out mostly
Had booked this property online before visiting China. The trip advisors and people I spoke to assured that a 3-star property in China is equivalent to a 4-star or 5-star property in India...IT'S NOT (if this place was an indicator). The rooms are vey tiny, wall paints keep falling and tiles in the room and bathroom are broken. And for some reason they have weird paintings on the wall as decor- hearts, lips etc...you get a surreal and kinda weird feeling. The bathroom's stinky and there's an overall mouldy smell in the room and linen and when you call the staff asking if they can do anything about it--they apparently don't find anything wronmg with the smell.Felt the staff was friendly and helpful---but there's nothing much they can help you with as language is a huge constraint, there's one person in the travel desk who undersatnds a few words of English...most of the conversation needs to be done using the online English-Mandarin translator in the hotel!You do not have a tea/coffee maker in the hotel..and there's no provision of getting naything to eat in the hotel. This is quite a pain...when you have to step into the cold and go someplace for a cup of coffee! The lock in my friend's room wasn't working..when it was noticed and pointed out --one of the guys who I guess stayed there too said..it's okay..he's just sitting outside browsing the Net and he'll ensure no one enters the room or takes the luggage! Thankfully, he could place the luggage in my room...where the lock worked!The only advantage of the place is it's location...it has some eateries and shops in walking distance. Even the forbidden city is a walkable distance (10 mins), ICB bank is jst 2 mins away...stay there only if you don't have other options and plan to travel and be out most of the time.
