Only if you get a deal
Don't get me wrong -this place is good. But 400 USD/ night good(which is what it usually costs)? Um... I don't think so. Frankly, I don't think there's a hotel in the world worth $400/night since you're basically there to sleep and use the place as a base of operations for exploring. But at 125 USD, this was a deal and a half! That's in cheap US dollars, mind you, not the heftier British Pound. I don't know how we managed to snag that on Priceline, but for a town in which 125 USD will barely get you a double in a hostel, this was downright phenomenal. First off, the location was "brilliant," as they say here across the pond. On the Thames, overlooking the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, literally next door to the London Eye. What could be better?Massive, clean, well-appointed rooms. At that price, we did splurge 25 pounds extra for a room overlooking the Thames.Typical 5 star amenities, including bathroom scales and a tea pot that boiled water in what must have been mere seconds. Magic? Room temperature control works perfectly. You set it to what you want, and that's the temperature it will be, without any real noise or fuss like in some lesser establishments.I have to agree with other reviews that the concierge service is not always the most competent. Not that they don't try. They attempt to fulfill every request graciously. But here's just one simple example: I asked about getting to Heathrow, and all they could offer us in the way of choices was cab, tube, and Heathrow Express. They didn't even know about Heathrow Connect, faster than the tube and cheaper than Heathrow Express. C'mon guys, this is your town. You should know this! The mattress was... just OK. Not too soft, not too hard. I have to say that the mattress we had in the much cheaper 2 star Sandton Eden in Antwerp was better. But the pillows were some of the best we've ever slept on. Overall, fantastic night's sleep. No complaints. In fact, no complaints at all given the price. Stuff like the Heathrow Connect option, that's what Rick Steves is for. Ah... but Rick Steves doesn't know that the Marriott London County Hall can sometimes be had for $125 a night!

Great stay but charged twice for car parking
We had a two night stay at the hotel which generally we enjoyed. We found the staff very friendly and helpful (during our stay). We had a lovely room which was very clean and comfortable and we had a good view. We also used the pool. It was dissapointing that the steam room/sauna in the ladies section wasn't working and the area immediately around the hot tub needed attention. The drinks in the bar are too expensive even taking into account the location of the hotel. We needed to book a car parking space, so I had called the hotel a month prior to our visit and was put through to someone who took my card details. Then when we were checking out we were informed that we hadn't yet been charged and needed to pay, which of course we did. When we received our next bank statement it showed both parking charges. We contacted the hotel expecting them to rectify the double charge but they said that they have no idea who I had been put through to (even though I had the name of the person and they admitted that they do have someone in that department with that name) and they stated that that person would not have taken my details. Well, I'm sorry but he did and we were charges twice. We have now dealt with the issue through our bank which has resulted in huge inconvenience as I had to be without a bank card whilst a new one was issued and sent. Although the charge on the statement did not say "Marriott" it did say parking charge and it was for the amount stating on the booking form and the dates were the same! It was disappointing to say the least and certainly took the edge off of what had been a great weekend in London. At the very least the Marriott should be making sure that there is a proper proceedure about booking car parking as when I called to book it originally, there did seem to be some confusion over who should take the call. It is possible of course that someone is making the most of that situation and benefit from an extra payment. There must be some people who don't check their statements and therefore would not realise that they have been charged twice. I would have said 8/10 before double charge, now would say 5/10.

Amazing hotel with amazing views
This hotel was a highlight of our trip. The staff was very helpful. I have a small baby and everytime i came back to the hotel a doorman or two would run over to help me take the stroller up the stairs. We stayed on the 6 th floor with a balcony and an amazing view of the thames and big ben. Very nice to sit out and watch the river with a glass of wine.

Good Hotel, Good Location.
This is a decent hotel but for the price I expect exemplary service, which this hotel does not consistently offer. Check in was perfunctory and lacking in enthusiasm. Bags were brought up promptly, a plus considering the distance from the elevator to the room. The room was nice, traditionally furnished and spacious by London standards with a view of the Jubilee Gardens, the River Thames and the peek of the London Eye. Amenities were standard Marriott. Like many British hotels, there was a kettle for making tea or instant (yuck) coffee. Concierge service was mixed, ranging from excellent to cold and indifferent depending on who was on duty. Several days we left the room in the morning and put out the "please clean our room" sign, only to return at mid-afternoon without the room having been cleaned. Bath towels were among the largest we have had anywhere, a definite plus. Biggest pluses: An historic building nicely renovated and the central location, adjacent to South Bank and the Westminster Bridge. All things considered, this hotel is not on par with the nearby Park PLaza, Westminster Bridge Hotel, where we have stayed in the past. We would probably not stay at the Marriott again even though it was not a wretched experience.

Spa...a day to remember for all the right reasons
My sister got me a spa day pass for my birthday. It was easily found with a good range of public transport around the area. We were welcomed with genuine warmth, all staff were friendly. The facilities were great also. I could say that maybe the jacuzzi area could do with abit more tlc decor wise. The prices for treatments were a little pricey, a suggestion maybe for them to do 15minute treatments as well as 30munutes. Overall it was a really great day.
