We were 3 persons in a triple room with breakfast.The location of the hotel is 5 minutes from East Croydon train station. I asked for quiet room on the backside of the hotel and was given such room on the 7'th floor. The room was good size and very clean,so was the bathroom.What we did not have in the room are refrigerator and safe. You can use the safe at the reception for free ,but it is not convenient.breakfast (buffet all you can eat) - i am very disappointed ,because very little choicethere are no fresh vegetables at all,nor any white cheese such as cottage .Yes ,there are full english breakfast:beans,bacon,fried eggs and sausages of two kinds: regular(meat) and vegetable,i tried regular ,the taste was awful ,like you are eating soyathere was also ham that tasted like it was filled with salted water.The next day we went to supermarket and bought us the food we wanted to eat for breakfast.Overall we did not payed much for the hotel ,so you should expect to get what you are paying for.

Didn't like my first stay. Noisy , draughty and just not what I expected. Been back for a superior room and was really happy with this and will stay again. This time was a whole different experience. Next booking will go for a superior room though

Finding the hotel in a car can be a challenge with the one-way system, and there is no on site parking so you need to park in a local municipal car park. The reception is spacious, which is good because it can occasionally get quite full when tourist parties arrive together. I cannot comment on the general rooms because I was put into a room designed for disabled people (presumably because the hotel was full), so it was spacious but with low fittings. It was clean but fairly basic. In the morning the breakfast was good and the staff were friendly and welcoming. For the room rates on offer this hotel represents good value but it is not the best, or even the best value, hotel in Croydon.

We were booked into this hotel by an agency. Could not be more pleased. When I phoned to confirm the post code for my satnav, the receptionist gave me a different code to that on the website, this brought me nicely to the front door whilst avoiding the hectic main thoroughfare of Croydon. On arrival I discussed parking and took their advice to use the nearby NCP at ¿¿10/day; a tad more expensive than the alternative in the Whitgift Centre but very easy and convenient.Our room on the 11th floor was very clean and bright with all the normal services. Throughout our stay the staff, despite being very busy with continental tourists, were commendably polite and helpful. With so many people, the lifts can become "all floor stoppers" at busy times like breakfast and check out, so keep a few minutes in hand! The breakfast was good; a large tureen of porridge was nice and a constant supply of cooked food kept choices fresh, this, together with good coffee and a decent selection of teas made for a good start to our day. On the Saturday evening we rounded off our day with drinks in the bar; others were ordering bar meals so it was quite busy, even so the lone barman coped very well - polite service whilst moving at speed! This hotel is ideally located for shopping in Croydon or walking just around the corner to catch a train to central London. Once the nearby large area of land between it and the rail line is developed it will be even better.

Took a city break to London, and trusted the Jurys Inn brand, big mistake, on arrival to the hotel having booked on booking.com we expected everything to be ok, we were paying by cash on arrival, having provided our credit card details on the website. The girl on Reception said because we were paying by cash she had to take a copy of our ID, having only my passport to hand I begrudgingly handed it over, knowing in my mind it being illegal to take a photocopy of a British passport, the girl then proceeded to disappear into the back office for around ten minutes while myself and my partner were stood lie a pair of numpties waiting for her return. When the young lady did return she informed us that the copier in the office wasn't working and she was going to run off upstairs with, that was when I said 'Hang on a minute!' and I wasn't happy in the first place with somebody doing anything with my passport, she came back to her computer and within about five seconds said she didn't need to as she had our credit card details already! How come she didn't pick this up when checking us into our room??? Got up to our room, to find dirty, old flat towels in our bathroom, a bathroom extractor so caked in dirt it was whistling, and a bath that when filled, if stood in it would barely cover my feet. On the second morning we decided we would indulge in breakfast in the hotel, we went down at 945, breakfast service stopping at 10am, the cereal was great! The fried eggs were horrid, a skin you could have used to dress wounds, my girlfriend had beans sausages bacon and eggs, I had the same, my partner ate one sausage which was fine, the second was completely gone off, she almost got sick in the middle of the restaurant, I tasted it too, both of us qualified Chefs, me not practicing professionally anymore were both disgusted. We complained and the only response we were give was a shrug and 'sry' in a whisper, I'm not being funny but WTF?? You serve food which has the potential of killing somebody through toxoplasmosis and all we get is a sorry??? The following night we went for a drink in the bar, I ordered a pint of Becks Vier, which appeared flat as a pancake, we gave up and went to bed. The last night we requested a wake up call in person at reception, for six AM as we had to catch an early train, luckily we set an alarm too, because lo and behold, no wake up call was forthcoming, as we checked out, it was mentioned to the girl on reception, they had made the wake up call, but the person on reception who had booked it the night before had got the room number wrong, all in all we had a very poor experiance of Jurys Inn and will probably never stay in one of their hotels again!
