A good hotel but not quite great....
On the plus side this is a fun and comfy boutique hotel. The rooms are comfy and well decorated with nice bathrooms. The food is excellent quality - if a little mean on the portion size. Overall we would stay again if we were looking for a hotel in the Wimbledon area - but there were a few niggles that stop it reaching its full potential in our opinion.Firstly, none of the niggles stop it being a nice overall experience. Restaurant and bar prices are extremely high. ¿¿14 for a mojito is almost double what you'd find in the west end and although it was lovely, it sent remarkable enough for that price tag. Similarly the food - ¿¿23 for lamb - is west end type prices and there simply wasn't enough of it - even though it was extremely tasty.The hotel has a very trendy/boutique decor which is nice in most parts but there are certain areas that are just not as smart/tidy as they should be (grotty "exit" and health and safety signs right next to carefully positioned bits of art just let the overall feel down slightly). Pretty much all their wall art (and there's a lot of it) is for sale and the dangling price tags just seems a little tacky.Anyway, these are tiny little details so it shouldn't stop you staying - it just stops Cannizaro short of being luxury. On the positives - it's a very different hotel, comfortable, amazing grounds and the rooms are reasonably priced for the quality!

Five star treatment
Unfortunately we did not stay at this hotel, but had a 'meal deal' and have admired the hotel from afar in the past, so the lunch in the restaurant overlooking the sunken garden in the sunshine was a lovely 42nd Anniversary treat.The lunch was lovely, the staff extremely courteous and attentive, nothing was too much trouble, we ate Oysters to begin with, which were fresh and cooling. (a treat) as we had a meal voucher, but it didn't make any difference to the service we got. (sometimes it can) Our two courses were beautifully presented, and very enjoyable, we felt exceptionally lucky, as it was our anniversary, and they knew, they took photographs of us together, and even presented us at the end of the lunch with a plate of petit fours, and a Happy Anniversary written in chocolate on the plate. What a lovely surprise. Its the little things that make the difference.Obviously we spent more than the voucher, but it was well well worth it.Thank you Cannizaro

Boutique Hotel stay for birthday
The big plus with Cannizaro is the staff, who are freindly and enthusiastic. However I had several small niggles, the check in time of after three, the check out time of before 11am difficult if you've been on the sauce till the wee hours. No English breakfast tea in the room( essential having missed breakfast) and a blackout blind that was worse than useless.I even managed to walk into some sort of American business conference that should have had a sign up, embarrassing. Lastly was the girl on reception who asked me whether I was lunching with them, when I told her we'd eaten at the Fox and Hounds round the corner, wanted to charge me for the car park even though two hours earlier I'd settled a ¿¿250 bill and moaned about the tea and the blind, still she was very polite once she realised her mistake. This Hotel was gifted to Merton Council so the house backs onto a municipal park, personally a bit to open for me

Wonderful boutique hotel in Wimbledon
Cannizzaro House is beautifully situated in 34 acres of Cannizzaro park. The views from the terrace are delightful, especially when dining in the new Orangerie. The hotel staff are professional and genuinely happy to accommodate every wish. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this sophisticated, gorgeous hotel.

Great to get away
We needed to get away for the weekend and what a find this was. We stayed in the beautiful Oscar Wilde Suite . A fabulously comfortable bed and great views over the park. Pre dinner drinks on the terrace was wonderful and the Mojito was stunning! We dined in the resturant and had one of the most wonderful meals we have eaten, the food was cooked to perfection and the service faultless, attentive but not overpowering.
