Great hotel

Not so 'grand'...
Where to start? We were extremely disappointed with this hotel. We had booked a family tower room for 3 girls for 5 nights, the 3rd bed was a fold up hard uncomfortable camper so not a great start there. The charge for WiFi is extortionate - ¿¿10 an hour or ¿¿25 a day (pounds not dirhams) ¿¿¿ what 5* hotel can justify this? Not the service expected from a Dubai 5*, I¿¿¿ve been to small b&b¿¿¿s in Thailand that offer free WiFi. The water in the shower was luke warm. The breakfast was standard, nothing special. The rooms were cleaned daily however very sporadic, sometimes our towels were changed, sometimes they never gave us toilet paper..when we called to have this brought up it took 15 minutes. We ate one night at the Lebanese restaurant in the hotel and ordered chicken shish which came on a plate with 3 mushrooms ¿¿¿ no salad no rice no complimentary meze starters and it was overpriced ¿¿¿ not what you expect from a luxury hotel, you¿¿¿ll get better service from a takeaway kebab shop. I think the worst part was the manager who we spoke to (Osama Mamdouh) that was clearly mocking us and showed no customer care or interest, and offered us a plate of apples to compensate and 15 mins free Wi-FI ¿¿¿ really??????on the morning we checked out we were told we were not entitled to breakfast as we already had it on the day we checked in ¿¿¿ this was despite not having breakfast for 2 of the 5 mornings we paid for ¿¿¿ very embarrassing. Overall, dated hotel in need of refurb, lacks sparkle or special touch to make it a 5* the service was poor and clearly money motivated with no care for customer satisfaction. No good value for money and would not return. We saw some much nice hotels out there.

Happy!!!
Before booking this hotel I checked on tripadvisor for any pointers and found plenty of negative info, so if you decide to stay at the Habtoor Grand I can say That my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay, although the hotel is a little tired the staff, restaurants, bars and facilities are very good and you should not be disappointed! There are lots of places outside to eat a stones through away around the marina if you wish. So I would recommend this hotel. But do not forget this is Dubai and it can be expensive! The places around the marina are generally half the price of the hotel, however you don't have the convenience I choose not to add pictures of toilets/bathrooms! Who does this?

Extermly dissatisfied
My room was 242, an old room with old smelly furniture, the bathroom shower pressure was very very low!!The black out doesnt fit with the window size, the flash light from outside was pointing at my eyes the entire night, and here come the Mosquitos!!! I was bitten on my face and neck, and I found huge big cockroach in the corridor of the hotel I wouldn't come back and I wouldn't recommend the hotel to anybody else!Sumaya zaaterCheck In date:02-06/2013Room:242

we spend six beautiful days at GRAND HABTOOR it was like being maroon on an island with all the extra trimmings from the moment you arrive to when you depart -the friedly welcome from the staff throughout the hotel warm smiles; helpfulness and manners awsome did not get to use all the facility that was availble would like to but six days is not long enough what with the beach,pool and the great dining surroundings man i could go on THIS PLACE ROCK you could not find a better place MANAGEMENT+STAFF+GREAT HOTEL+FOOD+FACILITY+SERVICE=tota
