Needs to be renovated.
We were happy to check in late at night and not spend much time in the hotel. The rooms are dated and drab, complete with older model toilets that have like a 2 gallon flush tank on them. We were really underwhelmed. The lobby and check in area has been updated, but then when you step into the hallways, it's a different story. The elevators need to be redone, hallway carpets need to be yanked up, etc. We were on the 7th floor. No mention of being a SPG Platinum and no upgrade when we checked in. Our room was small and certainly not large. It had a view of sorts to the south towards Palo Alto. Next door is a shiney new Aloft, also part of Starwood Hotels. We booked this hotel because we expected a Westin to be a grade or so higher than Aloft, so in this instance we made a mistake, but it was fine because we were up early and on the complimentary shuttle back to the airport. If we stay at SFO again it will be at the Aloft.

A pleasant, clean and comfortable hotel with shuttle service to SFO, the Westin's convenient location is its greatest asset. The restaurant was noisy and crowded the evening we arrived after a long flight. .

Plenty of room.
The room was nice sized. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. The rooms were quiet. The workout room was average. The Valet service was helpful and prompt but was just a tab overpriced. I would stay there again next trip to San Francisco. It was less that a 30 minute drive into downtown, Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square.

Wow.....Great Hotel
This was one of our "best experiences" and it was at an airport hotel. Our room was beautiful overlooking the runway. It was exciting to see the planes (great soundproofing). This would especially be a great experience for those who love aviation. The restaurant was "excellent" great service and food. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Convenient and Comfortable
The rooms are a decent size, clean, and comfortable.. They are quiet, and the beds are very comfy. The pool is large enough for real lap-swimming, and there's a very nifty service whereby the hotel will give you gym clothes and shoes for your stay for $5. (I didn't have time for this, but it struck me as an inspired idea!) The climate control in my room worked well, which seems like a small thing, but when it doesn't work, sleep becomes elusive!) We had a meal that was okay, but not awesome. The two things that we're good were that this hotel charges for internet, and the sealant around the drain in the tub was breaking off into unappealing little pieces into the bathtub. Overall, though, this is a decent spot if you're meeting at the airport or need a place for a layover.
