We had no problems with the staff that we came in contact with...all were polite and efficient, but we were not all that pleased with some other aspects. My husband and I were staying here after an 11 hour flight from Germany, before heading home the next day. We were surprised to see a giant black spa in the bedroom area. We would have preferred a couch or chair, but that was not a big deal. There was a large creaky sliding door to the bathroom that was a bit awkward and noisy.....The overhead lights in the room were harsh and too bright and there was a reading light on only one of the bedside tables. There were noisy girls in the pool until about 11 PM and again about 6 AM the next morning. The sprinklers went off in the middle of the night and they were noisy. The sound of water running in the adjoining rooms was very loud and we heard a nearby train during the night. The staff was great and the breakfast was fine, but we will look elsewhere the next time.

There is nothing wrong with this place. But nothing stands really out. The beds are good and the rooms are clean. It is also not too noisy. The staff at the counter is friendly. The breakfast room can get a bit crowed though at later times. In my view the dust on the fridges kitchen could have been taken care of better and there was some dirt on the coke vending machine in the hallway. There was good underground parking. The location of the hotel is close to the airport and not too far from away down town San Francisco.

Stayed here the second time to pick mom at SFO. Hotel has free shuttle to the airport. I love the fact that the hotel is 100% non smoking, my room smells great, carpet is clean, with a microwave and fridge. It also has a jetted tub. Surrounding the pool is a garden with rose plants and at this time of the year, the flowers are in bloom and simply beautiful. They serve free breakfast, has waffle maker, with hot foods like bacon, sausage and scrambled eggs. The place is just about 2 miles away from The Shops at Tanforan which is a nice mall . Hotel has a nearby restaurant which I haven't tried yet. It is also walking distance to Trader Joe's. This is one of my places to stay near SFO and would definitely be back.

A little outdated but very good for the money.Stayed in king suite with full kitchen,very roomy for a mid priced hotel. I would recomend this hotel to anyone budget or not.Very friendly helpful staff.Free parking on property in garage under hotel.

Just stayed this past weekend at La Quinta Inn & Suites San Francisco Airport West because I was travelling to San Francisco on a budget. I thought I had made a good decision as the reviews seeemed good, they allow dogs at no charge, free breakfast, free parking, free WIFI, and a kitchen in my room. However, I encountered several problems with this La Quinta. I am a La Quinta gold rewards member and I have stayed at La Quintas all over the United States (at least 20 nights). First problem was at check in: They do not accept CASH as a form of payment, they will only check you in with a credit/debit card. I do not have a credit card and considering my bank is in NY, i can't just go deposit money to my debit card. I pay cash at every hotel I stay in, never been a problem. I had to wait through several phone calls to talk to the woman at check in, and my room still wasnt ready at 4pm. Had to wait an hour to get into my room after a long drive, and be late to a dinner party!! Second problem: Fleas in my room!! My boyfriend and I were itchy the whole weekend, and left with flea bights. My dog now has fleas, which is going to cost us to treat her and our house. Third problem: The hotel was under construction (remodelling rooms next to us) which made for a very noisy/uncomfortable stay. Fourth problem: The WIFI had no password, and was so SLOW that it could not be used to search the internet. Fifth problem: The hotel smelled like sewege/bad plumbing inside and outside of the room. ***SIXTH PROBLEM: MY BOYFRIENDS CARD WAS CHARGED A $250 SMOKING FEE THE DAY AFTER WE CHECKED OUT, ONLY WE DO NOT SMOKE AND WE DID NOT SMOKE ANYTHING IN THE ROOM. HOUSEKEEPING REPORTED THEY "FOUND SOMETHING SMOKE RELATED" IN THE ROOM. I called the hotel and well as "guest services" and they are giving me the run arround. I just spent $530 to loose sleep at a flea infested roadside airport motel that smells, and I'm not happy at all.
