Great
stayed at the Mantra on Hay in Perth and found it to be fantastic. The price was great value and the staff couldn't be more helpful. Clean lovely large room with king size bed. The resaurant was also excellent with good old fashion service and very prompt delicious meal.

Great Location, lovely pool, amazing Panini's!
This is my second stay at this property and one of many at a Mantra property, the location in East Perth is excellent there is the FREE Red Cat bus that stops meters away from the Hotel entrance that makes several stops within the CBD (main mall 3 mins or easy 10 min walk) there is also a bus stop on Adelaide Tce 80 meters from the hotel that provides FREE transport around the city including to the beautiful Kings Park! The hotel is only a block away from Langley Park convenient for lovely morning walks along the beautiful Swan River and for families with young children there are 2x childrens playgrounds within a block of the hotel. Lunch at the hotel is very reasonable and provides excellent service and delicious options including the best Panini's I have eaten (chicken caesar or BLT yum) which is a plus in a city with very limited choices! Staff are very friendly and helpful with local information and tours. The rooms are lovely, tastefully decorated and very quiet! Thank you Mantra on Hay for the delicious apple on check in and the funky kids activity pack (the kids felt like kings) I would highly recommend this hotel to my friends and family! Thank

Pretty nice rooms, pretty good location, very friendly staff
We stayed over Easter and were greeted by smiling staff who gave our kids eggs and colouring in books. It was a nice touch- the children were kept amused as we unpacked. Our 2 bed apt was pretty spacious, and very comfortable. There's no real "wow" factor here- the pool was ok, lots of fresh towels- but everything seemed well maintained and clean. We would stay here again if we needed to visit Perth city.

Condition and Decore Terrible....staff Fantastic
If we hadnt pre-paid for this Accom. we would of walked out. I have never seen such run down poorly maintained bathrooms in a capital city !!! The grouting was hideous and the bathroom exhaust fan sounded like a truck. How can they justify the rate they charge. The bedrooms feel like prisons with no wall hangings. The fridge is noisey and the airconditioning rattles and is intolerable to sleep with. Yes I'd say it's a 2-3 star at most.

In need of an update
After a week in Joondalup and returning to Perth City we booked at the Mantra for 3 nights. What a dissapointment!. The 2 bedroom apartments was spacious but very tired and dull. Everywhere that you looked was dirty. The pillowcase on the bed had a stain on it. We sat it where the stain was visible hoping that the staff would change the next day but no was still there when we left. I went to make a coffee but couldnt work out if the stainless steel kettle was rusty or had food splashed all over it. It was food as it was up the wall behind the kettle on further inspection also. However it was replaced promptly with a phone call. The lounges were stained and also the dining chairs.We did have a drink in the bar on a couple of afternoons which was very enjoyable being able to sit outside and take in the great weather. We had room service one night but asked to have one of the meals less a couple of things however it still came up with the thing that we were allergic to. Room service was prompt and the other meals were great. There is also the "Blue Rock Cafe" across the road which has a great atmosphere and food.On arrival I noticed that I had booked one night short and asked if I could extend my stay by one night at the same rate. Although very helpful the staff couldnt give me an answer. I checked for the next 2 days and finally got an answer that it would be $20 dearer than what I had booked on Wotif? A little strange as there didnt appear to be a lot of people around. So imagine my unhappiness when after settling the account I realised that they had charged me $55 more for the last night. It thern took nearly 10 minutes to arrange the refund. Lesson learned always check account before handing over payment.Pool and fitness area looked very clean and in great condition.Staff very welcoming and a great asset. Would be a great place to stay if the apartments were refurbished as they have great space.
