If the other reviews warning you to stay away from this place are not enough I have more. This morning 03/27/2013 at about 7AM I watched a Sheriff's SWAT team raid 5 separate motel rooms here at the same time . Twenty plus SWAT guys flash banging 5 separate rooms!!! Think about how bad this place must be to get that level of attention!! The rooms are filthy, the carpets are black from dirty feet and cigarettes. Crack pipes litter the back of the building..Hookers, pimps, addicts wandering about while the cops worked.....STAY AWAY GO TO A REPUTABLE HOTEL!!!

I would not recommend this motel and will not stay there again. The room was dirty. The ceiling was repaired with duct tape. The sheets were rough. The TV was splattered with something...I don't even want to know what someone was doing in front of it! The refrigerator door was cockeyed. The water pressure in the sink was almost nothing. The shower was good, check in and check out were fine, and the person at the front desk was friendly. That's about it.

If we cannot depend upon reservations for a non-smoking room, it makes all travel difficult, because one cannot insure to be able to check in at the first moment of availability and inspect all the rooms to see if they are truly non-smoking ones.Our check-in was fine. This room was problematic, though I had stayed in others here before. Now the one given was the only non-smoking room they had left at that same price and it reeked of tobacco smoke so badly that I got a headache that lasted hours just walking in the door. While they had another room at $55 more, we could not afford that. They were kind enough to say they would return our money, so in that way it was good. Then we had to drive miles and miles north too late for finding a place with a reasonably-priced non-smoking room. It was Seafair weekend, so one of the most crowded of the year - which was why I had made the original reservations months before.

I tend to stay away from Rodeway Inns as they traditionally are horrible. This one is no different. The only reason I ended up staying here was a glich in the choice website. I intended to stay at the quality inn, but somehow it booked it here because I clicked on the lower rate. As I booked my entire trip the night before it was too late to cancel. So word of advice don't be cheap and don't book last minute. The area is nice with many retail shops and restaurants, and very close to the interstate, Northgate area, and Downtown.Although this is true of most places in Seattle, the parking is tight and when I checked in, full. I had to park in a section behindd the hotel that was additional parking. This was convenient in the long run based on the eventual location of my room, but because the dor from that lot to the front desk requires a room key I needed to walk around behind the fence and across the Enterprise Rent-A-Car lot to check in. The young guys were nice and helpful, but the rooms smelled as if it's a former smoking room. The bathroom needed a serious remodeling, and at first I thought the tv did not work. The next morning the front desk guy provided me with the instructions to turn it on because you needed to turn on the cable box and adjust the channel settings in order to turn it on. They advertise a breakfast, but it's merely hard bagels and cereal in a corner chair. Since it seems that there are some some permanent residents in this hotel there are constant door slammings and some are paranoid that the open the door everytime you walk out of your room or step out the elevator. The stay was tolerable since I was only there to sleep and shower. When I checked out, what I assume was the owner, asked me 20 questions to ensure I didn't take any towels or the room key, and still tells me that he hopes to see me again soon. Simply put don't stay here.

I was disappointed to say the least. Other reviewers have noted the dodgy appearance of the majority of the other guests. My guess is they live at this Rodeway. The chain should review its options to pull out. This property probably doesn't deserve any national branding.The room was barely acceptable, after you got used to the smell which was used to mask whatever else there might be. The carpet was torn, the bed was terrible.Next time, I will try the Holiday Inn branded property farther north. It is larger, newer and has to be better.
