Good Location
Stayed here while on a tour and liked the location. It is within walking distance of the Forbidden City (about 15-20 minutes), a large shopping mall, and just down the block is a very large bookstore that carries books in English. The rooms are nice and there is free Wi-fi in the lobby. In the evening in a plaza between the hotel and the mall people gather to line dance. It's fun to watch and join in! On the top floor of the mall is a food court where I had a very good Chinese meal for $6 (there are restaurants in the mall but the less expensive food is in the food court). For a nice day take a taxi to the Hutong area by the lakes and spend some time exploring (I used the recommended walking tour in Frommers). You can meander back to the hotel (takes between 1-2 hours to walk back depending on how fast you walk and how much meandering you do). I felt very safe and was able to experience more of Beijing than just the tourist/business areas.

8 Nights Stay - Excellent Staff and Location.
I stayed here with my two siblings in one room for a total of 8 nights. We booked this the day we arrived in Beijing as the original hotel we had booked was very disappointing. First advice when going to China, ALWAYS book a hotel that is atleast 4 star, because their scale doesn't match up to ours. As we had an extra person in the room the hotel provided us with an extra bed, there was a charge but was cheaper than buying another room. The breakfast is definitely worth it, lots of choice to suit anybody's taste, and very tasty. The hotel staff were excellent, during our time there it was my sister's birthday and out of the blue they left a cake in our room for her. This was a lovely gesture and a lovely surprise. All staff were great and answered all our queries. Even when we asked to move rooms, because the room given was a smoking room which we didn't request, they were more than happy to do this. Location is excellent, Wangfujing is a main shopping area and we found it very safe at night as always lit. There are 2 subways stops on different lines in walking distance, which was essential for us. Also Forbidden city is in walking distance too.During our time there we also booked 2 trips through the hotel. I would definitely recommend a trip to the great wall. But go to the part of the wall which has the cable cart to the Wall, and to come down you can toboggan down for ¿¿6 or so. Which was truly amazing!! Only down part of the hotel is the Wifi. it is only free in the lobby and even then, it's not the fastest internet in the world. If you want Wifi in your room, it is way too expensive. If I record it is over ¿¿10 for 24hours, which in today's world is ludicrous. (there is an Apple store within a 5 minute walk, so can use Wifi there is needed, also we got onto facebook using their wifi)Also, another negative was in one of the rooms we had (we stayed for 4 days, then when to Xian for 2 days, and then return to the hotel for another 4 days) the plumbing in the bathroom wasn't great, which was a bit annoying. Also, swimming pool needs a facelift. Overall a great stay.

Good value for money
We stayed here this month and we were very happy. The staff were very friendly and helpful (they also spoke English). the rooms were nicely furnished and clean. Breakfast was good. Overall for the price it was very good value, would definitely stay her again

Very average -- it should not be claimed as 5*
We stayed for 3 nights. Location is great: 5 min from subway, 10 min walk to Forbidden city, shopping street is just around the corner. Rooms are tired, but clean, beds are ok. Staff barely speak English. Wifi in the room is not for free.Cleaning staff manager should not make that noise every afternoon, knocking the doors and screaming if all is ok... Never seen it before...In general, it was ok.

Disappointing
I find it very difficult to write a disappointing note review but sadly I didn't have a great stay here even though I really wanted to make the best of it. The negatives.. The room was verydisappointing. They are old and not well kept. I had a few major issues with my room. The ceiling was cracking and not maintained.
