Bustling, Centrally located and extremely helpful staff the the Concierge desk!
We stayed here when we came for the Canton Fair and were very happy with the location. It is situated right next to a train station which helped us traverse the length and breadth of the city. The rooms are nice, spacious enough and the bathroom very nicely done. It is also a very short taxi distance away from the pier (where the river cruise happens) and also near the markets. A special mention to the concierge staff who had an answer to all our queries and who ensured that we got to our destinations without hassles. Thank you all for making it a very comfortable stay.

China Hotel Marriott Guangzhou
Normally travel there from HK via the train which comes into the GZ East train station thus take a taxi (should be no more than 50 Yuan. Good hotel though the food is on the expensive side. It is near the leather market Baiyun World Leather Trading Center and a number of clothes malls. The leather center is excellent for purses and leather goods and ask around and you will find that Guggi or other high end brand there. The hotel is very nice and the rooms are good. Clean and quiet and one of the better places to stay in GZ.

not bad
stayed here for canton fair, food is not really up to scratch at all and good job macdonalds next door.rooms good size and walk in shower which is always a bonus, bed very very comfortable. the area is ok but not much to do. 4th floor bar is best area and there beef sliders are great

This hotel caters to a lot...
This hotel caters to a lot of adopting families. I was there with my daughter and son-in-law with our newly adopted 2 yr old toddler. The buffet breakfast was good, tho' not excellent. Enough fresh fruits for the day. We also like the little outdoor playground on the 4th floor. Since we have to stay there for a week, we go to the playground everyday. Our newly adopted 2 yr old boy has not even been to a playground before, having been in an orphanage all his life. There are many restaurants within a 10 minute walking distance. All in all, a good place to stay. Room is clean and very modern. Hotel decor is excellent. Staff is friendly.

Business stay in Guangzhou
This was a business trip to the Canton Fair trade show. This hotel was really excellent in most respects. Staff spoke good english, the free breakfast was outstanding and extremely varied, and they provided a free shuttle back and forth to the show.The best thing we did was upgrade to a business package that put us on a top floor in an upgraded room and allowed access to the business lounge one floor above us which provided free food and drinks every evening. Unless you go out and walk the streets far from the big hotels China is very expensive so we ended up eating and drinking every night in the business lounge, which while not gourmet was quite satisfactory, plus comfortable with a view of the city from the 19th floor. The extra costs for the upgrade more than paid for itself in the costs of drinks and food so this was a really good value. The room was exceptional too. Fantastic shower bath combo and the room also has a large desk and fast internet connection. Monster bed and many sat TV channels if you have time to watch.We splurged one night at the 4 seasons restaurant in the hotel and this was a big disappointment and expensive so I dont recommend this.So a great place to stay if you have to be in Guangzhou.
