Great location, average room ..300 pounds a night!
Stayed at the Monty Opera on a business trip. ...I shall not be staying there again. The location is great although can take a little finding. The lobby looks very nice and the staff were pretty friendly. The room was "compact" with a cheap, capsule bathroom/shower. The room had three single beds and they were OK. The room was clean but the shag pile carpet is not something you expect in a high throughput hotel.Can't speak for the breakfast as did not want to spend any time there.All in all it felt like a cheap motel in the room and I felt ripped off at 300 GBP per night. If it had been 100-150 GBP per night, it would have felt OK...but just OK.

OK hotel
Room and bed were tiny, but clean and compactly organized.! Service was friendly and reasonably savvy. Not far from metro. Hotel door locked at night, giving a feeling of added security. A bit expensive for what it offered. Did not use the breakfast, so cannot evaluate it.

Good Value for a Fun Weekend Getaway
What can I say - small rooms (its Paris) but not too expensive (again it is Paris). I really enjoyed my stay at this Mercure. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was small but well equipped. The location was perfect, in between two metro stations (choice of lines) so very easy to get around Paris. The hotel is on a quiet street and I didn't really notice much noise, but I was exhausted from running around Paris all day.

Clean, modern and well-located, but noisy rooms
There are many hotels in Paris, all expensive and small rooms. This hotel is not an exception (about 150 euro a night). I always try to find hotels without traffic noise. Mercure Monty Opera is well-located, within walking distance from Gare du Nord and big shops (like Galeries Lafayette). You don`t have to take breakfast in the hotel, because a bakery is next to the hotel (as well as many small grocery stores, like Carefour City, Franprix and M`prix). The rooms are modern, clean but small (like always in Paris). There was no traffic noise, as I stayed on the inner side of the hotel. However, the walls of the rooms do not retain the noise from neighboring rooms. I was able to hear every phone call of my neighbor. It really influenced my sleep quality.

Good location for w/e break
Used this hotel for w/e break via Eurostar to watch rugby at Stade De France. Good location just 5 mins taxi or 15 min walk from Gare de Nore. Located in quiet street but 5 mins walk from lots of restaurants, hop on hop off bus tour stop & also a couple of metro stops.Pleasant but smallish rooms with good size shower.Can be noisy late at night if you have room on front side of hotel.Also good free wifi service.
