I chose the hotel to be near the venue of a conference I was attending, and the reviews seemed positive. However the experience that followed was the opposite. At 3 in the morning, a man tried to open the door and then simply kicked the door and broke into my room. I jumped out of bed in panic, he first apologised, so I thought he was a drunken guest, but then when he realized I was there on my own, he came closer to me and grabbed my iPod and mobile from the desk.I simply could not believe what was happening, and my first reaction was to grab him and fight him to get my things back. I screamed out loud, but nobody showed up. I told him I would give him money if he gave me back my things, then he took his hand into one of his pockets, I thought he was going to grab a knife, so I let him go. He had my phone in his hand and threw it behind me, he said "there's your phone... there's your phone, where's the money?" I stepped back, picked up my phone and I started shouting again, ordering him to leave my room. It seemed to work and he escaped with my iPod, leaving me in shock and with a fracture in one of my fingers.I called reception and the night manager called the police. The first thing the hotel asked was why I hadn't left the room in the first chance? I was in shock and it all happened so fast. I asked him if they had seen anyone leaving the building and he said no, so I was even more scared thinking that man could be anywhere in the building. They offered me another room, but I obviously couldn't bear the idea of being on my own, so I stayed in reception until a little after 5am, when the police finally came. The manager was not clear explaining how the intruder had managed to enter all the way to my room, he said that someone with a description similar to the one I had given had come late, kicking the magnetic door, demanding access by saying he was a guest, but the manager did not know what room that ¿¿¿guest¿¿¿ was in. So it appears they did know someone was in the hotel and did nothing? I wonder if anyone claiming to be a guest can gain access to hotels in the middle of the night? I was told earlier that the main door is locked after 11, and access can be granted by buzzing reception. That was clearly not enough to provide security to the guests.It's been a month and I am still chasing them for a resolution. I have sent the hotels e-mails asking for an update, and all I get is an apology for not contacting me before. There seems to be little care from the hotel and just reference to waiting for their insurance company to resolve my claim of my lost property. Surely the wait can be their issue and not mine? Given the situation I would have expected the hotel to be bending over backwards to resolve the situation. I honestly believe that they do not care. The experience has not only left me with a fractured finger and lost personal information and memories from my iPod, but nightmares, emotional and psychological distress, and the frustration of dealing with this a month after it happened. The worst travelling experience ever.

Good central location, but a hotel that promised a lot and delivered very little...Hotel was in need of a good face life throughout, and service was not great.Would not recommend this hotel, and would not stay at this hotel again!

the location is superb, and within the hotel very clean. The staff were friendly at the reception as well. Old building which they keep in tact on a high valuable way. Room was comfortable and I felt very good during my stay. Will book again when a discount rate is available. I know the original price was ¿¿59 for a single night, and to be honest - no need to ask excessive amounts for a bed and some instant coffee bags. Was comfortable my stay, that for sure

Great location in centre of Piccadilly. Room was clean, but could do with a touch up of the decor. The window view we had was awful, was facing other rooms and could see in their windows! Staff were friendly.

stayed here last weekend with some friends for my birthday. room was fine although could do with a bit of a freshen up on the walls but was OK .on checking in was good and friendly staff throughout our weekend . And a special mention to Paris on nights who did so much for my friend who lost his phone he could not of been more helpful. on checking out on Monday 15th April was very disappointed with lady behind recp no smile or even an ask of how our stay was it was room number right goodbye very unprofessional maybe just a bad day for her but don't bring problems to work a nice smile and hope u had a good weekend would have been nice
