Dated hotel but great staff and top breakfast!
The hotel was booked for me and I have to say I was a bit disappointed when I arrived - dull, concrete exterior, shabby reception and hallways (I was on level 4). But the staff were so friendly and helpful, and the breakfast scrumptious!My room (which I think is typical) was triangular so a little hard to navigate but clean and comfortable.Not too much to complain about for ¿¿70 a night!

We wanted to spoil our friend for her 'special' birthday. I saw this offer on groupon which was for afternoon tea, a three course meal including a bottle of wine, standard double room and breakfast. I was in contact with Daniel from reception before hand who ensured our rooms were next to each other and answered any questions I had. The member of staff on reception greeted us with a smile and check in was a simple process. Our rooms were lovely and contained all we needed for an overnignt stay. Kristina from the restaurant helped make our friend special by presenting her with the gifts and flowers we baught her. Her service and support enhanced the whole experience. The afternoon tea was so lovely, the scones and cakes were moorish and the sandwhich selection included many choices for vegetarians. I would recommend the fish cake and salmon on the evening menu, it was succulent and well presented. The choice at breakfast was plentiful, we had freshly made omlettes with vegetarian sausages, lovely. I have stayed at this hotel before and this time was most enjoyable and staff support and smiles most consistant. All staff were helpful, I have named the ones who were most helpful. My friend had a memorable day, we couldn't have chosen a better experience. I would certainly recommend this hotel.

Come here if only for the Breakfast
We got a very cheap deal on the web for this hotel so expected it to be poor. We were delighted to find the opposite. We had free parking which was one of the things that attracted us.The room was small but had everything needed and all in good order.The whole hotel was quite warm so we used the air con in the room. It wasn't loud.We paid ¿¿5 each as part of our booking for breakfast. I'm very glad we did.It was our last breakfast of a 8 day break and def.,the best. A massive choice, even small smoothies. All buffet style and staff on hand for top up coffee etc. Excellent.

Fantastic
We bought a groupon deal which was afternoon tea, 3 course evening meal with wine and breakfast, so at ¿¿89 it was a bargain. From start to finish it was just brilliant, the room was great with a very comfy bed, bathroom was very clean and also the tv had a great range of channels. The bar and restaurant area was lovely very homely and comfortable. The food was to a very high quality and the waiting staff were very attentive. We ordered breakfast to our room and it was brought up exactly when we requested and again was very enjoyable. I will definitely be returning and would highly recommend to anybody.

Not very nice
Stayed at Menzies hotel classed as four star hotel but it was not nice small room , smelly and dated and did not look clean , did not enjoy our stay. I would not like to go back there again in a hurry.I felt very claustrophobic. The staff were ok and I remember the breakfast was allright basic but edible with cheap quality cereal and yogurt. Cooked breakfast was nice.
