An "okay" choice for a 5-star hotel in Sydney
I am staying there now - and this is not the first time. Very well located between George and Pitt streets close to Town Hall metro station. Bang opposite the famous Queen Victoria Building shopping destination. Clean. Friendly staff. Great housekeeping. Good toiletries. Free WiFi at the lobby. Good parking - usually available. Some of the issues which were surprising:Room size:The basic rooms (and you will get one of those if you book through Agoda or such like, like I did) is very small for a 5-star. If you need to keep your suitcase on the floor (which I have to do to place the lid section too - which has the suits and the shirts), then there's pretty much no space on the floor left to navigate through. I would've expected a 5-star to have at least slightly larger rooms as basic.Ironing Board:Watch out - that's a hazard waiting to happen. Its extremely cheap quality, and wobbly. And it doesn't have a place at the end to hold the hot iron - so the iron has to be kept on the board itself. One of these days, someone could get seriously burnt with the board toppling over with the iron on it. Access cards:The cards (which are the mag-stripe swipe type) seem to always get messed up. More often than not, I would enter the elevator with other people, and on swiping my cards see that they are not working. By then the elevator would've moved off due to other people, and I would have to get back down again to get a fresh set reissued. Saw this happening with other guests too. One of the guys at the reception even knew some of the readers which were not working, or would corrupt the cards. Has happened in multiple stays of mine at that hotel. Why can't they get that fixed?(e.g. Swissotel, their neighbour, uses the tap-type cards. Never failed).For the rest, it was as expected. Nothing to delight, but reliable. Go for it if you get a great price, lower than the other 5-stars in the city.

Convenient luxury!
I travel for work quite a lot and have stayed in many a hotel. As such, for me, hotels is not just a place to sleep but a second home of sorts. Right upon arrival, i've received a warm welcome, given the right amount of TLC to get me through to the reception. The reception team was well orgaized and welcoming and that i was given my room key in less than 2 minutes!The room is very well appointed. The hotel was situated in the cbd and i expected a bit of street noise coming into the rooms. This was not the case which was very good for a light sleeper like myself. There is enough room in the cupboard for more than a week's stay, the room is well furnished, the bed just right - not too soft, not too hard.

Great Location Great Service Great Rooms Great Lobby area Great experience We walked everywhere, there was nice restaraunt there but also more surrounding, the bed was so comfy, the luxury of the rooms was a nice incllusion. Staff were more than happy to help with any requests. and the lobby smelt devine.

Love this place!
I come to Sydney at least once a year, and part of my anticipation of being in the city is staying at this hotel. Top notch service (like really, no Hilton branded hotel in the US compares to how Im treated here), great food, AMAZING executive lounge service (and food!), and really amazingly maintained interiors. The rooms are a bit small, but thats to be expected in the NYC of Australia. I cannot overemphasize the level of service at this hotel - Ive encountered a few snags (a mis-charged phone bill) and within seconds, I was being apologized to and the charge was removed.....its just a great place to stay with people who make it inviting.

Amazingggg! Make SURE you have breakfast here!
Before I mention ANYTHING else... make SURE you have the breakfast buffet here. It is easily the best breakfast buffet that I have ever tried in Australia.I originally booked a Hilton Executive Room and then received an email asking if I would like to request a discounted upgrade. This meant that if they had the room upgrade I requested available upon check-in I would be upgraded at this discounted price. When I arrived I was greeted by a very nice lady. She gave me the key to my room which had been upgraded by 2 room types to the Hilton Junior King Suite! This room was absolutely gorgeous! This room had a huge lounge type room with a desk and a spare toilet. On the right were huge sliding doors which opened to the most amazingly comfortable bed. The bathroom was beautiful and it had a spa with a view out to Sydney. Not to mention the electric blinds and black-out curtains as well as a pillow menu!Due to the room type, which is available from the Hilton Executive Room and up, I was able to take advantage of all of the executive benefits so I got to attend a few hours with free alcohol and canapes which were delicious. I was also given cards to have free coffee and cake downstairs... and these weren't just normal cakes they were amazing!!!Lastly, I got to have the most amazing breakfast ever! The hotel was located in a great spot... close to lots of attractions as well as shopping. I couldn't rave enough :)
