Great conference venue
Attended a large conference here and it was an exceptional venue. The plenary sessions were held in the large concert hall which had good sound and AV equipment, comfortable seating and ventilation. The smaller breakout rooms were equally as comfortable. The large trade display area was well set out giving participants good access to the displays as well as room to network. There was sufficient space outside of this area as well. The staff were exceptional, displaying a high level of professionalism and friendliness. The catering was very good. Hobart is a beautiful city and this venue sits right in the middle of the most attractive part of town.

Perfect Place to stay
Stayed there on business on the 13th May, stayed there a few times in the past, and I always come back to it. Rooms are clean, tidy and modern.One minute walk to the harbour and restaurants. Perfect place to stay

Grand Chancellor is 80's but grand
We stayed at the hotel from 3 to 7 May 2013. Booked a standard room for two but upgraded on arrival to the Presidential Suite. Don't know why but it must be because we are Port Adelaide Power AFL football supporters who played North Melbourne that weekend. In any event, the upgrade was appreciated, thank you hotel.The Presidential Suite was huge - three rooms plus study and bathrooms. The hotel hasn't changed in style from the 1980s but it was clean and had the necessities with a spectacular view over the harbour and Mt Wellington.We hired a car from the airport and the location and parking was easy to find and reasonably priced at $8 per day.This hotel is on the main road, close to everything. Some people may complain about the traffic noise but that didn't bother us.We didn't use the pool and gym but checked it out - it was a pretty good set up.I would recommend this hotel for future travellers.

Great Location & Views
Stayed two nights with Bed & Breakfast. Nice newly-refurbished corner room with fantastic views of the Hobart harbor. Easy walking distance to restaurants and sites. Good service. Good breakfast. Didn't have time to use the indoor pool but it looked adequate. Only negative was the fitness room which was below mediocre. Would go back.

Location, Views, Service, Comfort. The Grand Chancellor has it all
The Grand Chancellor is superbly located on the waterfront overlooking the harbour in Hobart. The docks are a 5 minute stroll and make for a fascinating meander among the fishing boats. The hotel was renovated 7 years ago and while a little old fashioned, clean, crisp and comfortable.
