Friendly staff and perfect location
Laat minute booking on a busy conference weekend. Staff were very accomodating and considerate for our needs of a refridgerator and microwave oven for our daughter with allergies. Walk to Wharf and Lombard street. Easy access to cable car which our kids loved.

Very good location
For people who are not looking for fancy hotel this hotel is very nice because it is close to different public transportation method, walking distance to fisherman' warf.I think this location is better than downtown san francisco and definitely cheaper

Frisco Nights
Great location and value in a pricey city. Place was clean and friendly with great complimentary breakfast. Rooms were spacious and quiet. We had two rooms as traveling with adult children, they were quite pleased. Parking is the major downside as the charge is $45 or more. We found a convenient and safe lot around corner for $35 which was empty but for 3 cars. We will stay here again when in area.

Good hotel....excellent location
Very clean, well stocked with towels,soaps etc, complimentary daily newspaper. Concierge was always available and very helpful. Our request to be in the main building close to the pool for the kids was honoured. The pool and fitness area was well maintained. The staff was friendly. Absolutely no complaints. Got exactly what I expected for a mid-range priced hotel. Yes, there is street noise, but seriously, anyone who expects to stay in a busy part of town with all the cable cars and busses and not hear noise is expecting way too much.

Avoid It!
We arrived here after spending 140 minutes queuing to clear immigration and after an 11 hour flight were looking forward to getting to our room. Check in was not bad, only one ahead of us, but the time is taken telling us how to find our way across the road and giving us the option of waiting for the bell hop or dragging our cases ourselves. We had a wait of about 10 mins as the bell hop was alredy delivering someone else to the site. This place here is obviously the 'poor relation' across the road and dreadfully in need of a refurb. It does not look as though anything has changed over the last forty years. The only saving grace and why I hve given it 2 dots not one is the location. The entrance is gloomy and our room is on the ground floor. Starting with the bathroom, well, this is our first time in the States and maybe all bathrooms here are the same, but most place we stay these days have nice modern tiles, not beige wallpaper. The door is a sort of khaki with chipping paint. The toilet is very old and the flush not good. The only thing in its favour is it is clean.The bed is queen, not king and not particularly comfortable - again dated and the only chair is the one at the desk. The room is a little cramped. The carpets have seen better days. We tried using the aircon if only to get rid of the mossies, but it was so noisy, we would never have been able to sleep - not that we can anyway as it is too warm and even at 2.00 in the morning and we are towards the end of the corridor, we still hear slamming doors. To give an idea of how dated this is, the safe is locked with a key not a combination.The public area and the walk to the room is terrible. So dingy and depressing and dated.I write this at 3.00 in the morning whilst not being able to sleep,and whie my husband costs up other hotels in the area as we are seriously considering cutting our losses. At least there is free internet access!Cannot comment on the staff as have not really seen many.
