Still a Favourite
My wife and I popped down to Sydney to watch the last performance of JC-Superstar and stayed at the Sir Stamford.This was the 6th time we have stayed at this particular hotel - the reason being is that the hotel is convenient, the staff are superb, the atmosphere when entering is welcoming and everything is done very well.We were warmly greeted by Kylie at reception (who is a wonderful asset) and we booked in.Our room was on the 9th floor and afforded a small view from the room of Circular Quay and a partial view of Sydney Harbour Bridge (from the balcony). The room was spacious, immaculate and extremely comfortable. We were also welcomed back with a fruit bowl and card from the General Manager, which was appreciated.Unfortunately I ran out of time to use the gym and sauna - next time !!The hotel retains it's charm and grace and is wonderful for a visit to Sydney.We will go back again !!

Hidden Sydney gem
This hotel is discreet and tucked away behind Circular Quay. It has the feel of a small, stylish, boutique hotel and is in a fantastic location. My room was very spacious, had a partial harbour view and was very comfortable. There is a great bar downstairs and I felt very comfortable in this place. I would highly recommend it.

Lovely staff and wonderful food
We went for a weekend birthday celebration. We had high tea, which was divine. It's such a nice location, and the people around were very interesting. The staff were so lovely, every step of the way. We stayed just for one night, got a room upgrade, and had the breakfast buffet, which was delicious.

Faboulous
few things about this hotel its for sure one of the best hotels in sydney , great staff , Marty in perticular was really helpfull , location location location .. close to every thing you want in sydney . and the room have a great view .. the staff are top noch and on the money ,.. smiles every time you pass by .. good breakfast ... excellent spread and a lovely menu for dinner is just an added plus will be booking again for sure when i am back next month Mira

wonderful short stay!
Had a wonderful, although all too short, 2night stay at this beautifully appointed hotel. The staff at the Sir Stamford were all superb from the from the front office staff to the staff in the bar and dining room. Arriving at 11am, and not expecting to be able to check in so early, I was pleasantly surprised to hear that this was not going to be a problem. Our room was very spacious and tastefully furnished (as was the whole hotel) and the marble bathroom with a walkin shower definitely the largest I have ever had in any hotel. The view from room was over Circular Quay which was interesting as we had a great view of Vivid display on the Musuem of Contemporary Art. So while, on the next visit (and yes we will definitely be back!) we would like a room with a more open view from a higher floor, such as the Opera House, on this occasion we were not disappointed.We enjoyed the bar with its beautiful ambience and staff here were very friendly and professional as were the staff in the Dining Room where we enjoyed a lovely breakfast...next time will book a package with breakfast included. The menu for dinner and also high tea looks superb but that will have to be for next time!The hotel has a very pleasant pool and outside lounge area which would be perfect for the warmer months.The hotel is so conveniently located, just a short walk from Circular Quay for all transport needs and a lovely walk to the Opera House and directly opposite the Botanic Gardens....will definitely be returning!
