Excellent hotel, service and location
I stayed here on a business trip to Sydney. From the very first step inside the premises you know you w in for a luxury experience. The staff are wonderful and never before have I been asked by the check in staff if I would like to be escorted to my room. The room was spacious and the amenities were excellent quality. The little touches like bath salts next to the bathtub and heated towel rail are things you do not experience in five star hotels. I had breakfast in the hotel, and the level of detail was exceptional. To have the waiter deliver my breakfast and address me by name shows that they really care and go that extra mile to make you feel comfortable. I stay in Sydney quite regularly, and this is now my new preferred hotel.

Very good with a minor glitch
This a very good hotel situated on the edge of Sydney¿¿¿s historic ¿¿¿Rocks¿¿¿ area and in the shadow of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. My family and I stayed here for one night and enjoyed our stay.The hotel¿¿¿s staff are friendly and our ¿¿¿standard¿¿¿ room was large as was the room¿¿¿s bathroom. Even with a roll-out bed for our daughter the room was generous. Even though our room was on the first floor facing Kent Street we experienced little or no street noise. We stayed on the Sunday of a public holiday long weekend, so Sydney was busy though Kent Street where the hotel is located was quiet and pleasant to be around.The only glitch and something the hotel should deal with was our experience with room service. A fifty-minute wait is really not acceptable for a five-star establishment, and on top of that reception (which took our order) advised that the three ice-cream flavours available for my eight year old were vanilla, chocolate and strawberry, so you can imagine we were a little surprised when rum and raisin, butterscotch and pistachio arrived! Doesn¿¿¿t make for a good impression. Notwithstanding, the breakfast spread is top-class and the general level of service is very good. The d¿¿cor of the rooms and the hotel creates a good impression.

What a beautiful Hotel, all staff very friendly and professional. Surprisingly we were upgraded to a room with water views, very impressive. Thank you. Will definitely recommend to our friends that visit the city regularly

All that we imagined
From the moment we arrived we knew we were somewhere extra special. From the greeting at the door to the moment we checked out the staff were professional, welcoming and above all added to the whole pleasurable and memorable experience. We loved our stay so much we have chosen to fly to Melbourne for our next short break and stay at the Langham in Melbourne. The spa and pool were breath taking, we felt like we were in Greece. We would highly recommend the Langham to those wanting luxury with a warm and welcoming feel. The long island ice teas in the bar were all that I imagined they would be.

It is what it is.
Friendly, familiar and convenient staying at The Langham Sydney is rather like staying with your Grandmother for the week end. It would would appear however that 'Granny' has fallen on hard times.The property is well and truly in need of a full refurbishment so be prepared for peeling paint, fraying fabrics and a generally overall tired appearance. I understand that plans for refurbishment are in place and look forward to those works taking place. Little has really changes service wise since the name change from The Observatory to The Langham however there appeared to be somewhat of a lack of communication between reception and services such as housekeeping and maintenance with calls for assistance having to be placed a number of times before before staff attended to requests. Having said this I must say that the staff remain friendly, helpful and appear to have a genuine interest in providing a superior level of service. The concierge desk under the guidance of Michael provides a level of service unsurpassed in any other property in which I have stayed.The Langham Sydney is well situated with a friendly and attentive staff however maintenance problems are clearly apparent and in some instances simply unacceptable. If you are not overly concerned with peeling paint, skirting boards coming away from walls, peeling wall paper, water damaged carpet and some minor plumbing problems try The Langham Sydney for what is really a unique experience.
