Perfect location and large rooms
This hotel is very comfortable, and not one of the big chain brands so has some individuality. The view of the Botanical Gardens is good, but if you don't want to pay the extra, you can just stroll out the front door of the hotel, crosss the street, and there you are in the calm of the park. After a trans-Pacific flight, this is great. My third stay here, and always very happy to arrive. Excellent buffet breakfast.

Good central location, good value, bit shabby
Stayed 1 night, location very central for the river, you can walk thru the park to the restaurant area easily enough (perhaps 15-20 mins).The hotel is getting on a bit, essentially styleless. The rooms serviceable and clean but a bit shabby.The staff were accommodating and friendly, they were happy to make restaurant bookings.Plenty of taxis right outside the front door.Pool was outdoor and too cool to swim comfortably. It is not heated.The price was very reasonable for central city accommodation, and in this case you get what you pay for.

Wonderful Service and Location
The hotel was a great place to stay - the staff were to a person really engaging and helpful and had a cheery smile every time we interacted with them.The rooms were clean and well appointed and spacious enough to stretch out a bit. Value for money was excellent - especially given the location - it seemed to be 5 minutes walk from everywhere.I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and would definitely return next time we were in Brisbane.

Another lovely stay at Royal on the Park
This was at least our third stay at the Royal on the Park. Our room was very comfortable with 2 double beds and a gorgeous view of the Botanical Gardens. We booked a special Easter B and B deal which was extrememely reasonable and included breakfast for our family. The breakfast buffet is wonderful with juices, cereals, pastries, fresh fruits and full hot breakfast treats such as hash browns, bacon, eggs, sausages etc. They have even added Espresso machines since our last stay! Such a lovely breakfast provided us with the perfect sustenance to face the theme parks on the Gold Coast. The rooms are serviced daily and are always very clean. The location of the hotel is just a short walk to the city of only a few blocks. We will definitely return to the Royal on the Park on our next stay in Brisbane.

Not 4 and a half star
The room was clean and tidy and had 2 queen beds as advertised. Thats all it was. Bath room was OK except for the dirty vent in the shower. The water temperture could not be maintained and went from hot to cold constantly. I would be afraid of using it with small children. It is a shower over the bath which they all have nowdays but it was a big step to get into. The toliet ran constantly and the towels were absolutly horrible with one so thread bare it ripped when it was used. See photo attached. We had a city view (carpark view) room and there is a noisy building site across the road which works on Saturday. The park is beautiful and it was lovely for the kids to be able to go and run around. The pool area looked nice but we did not use it. The wardrope in our room only opened about 4 inches which made putting bags away impossible. I informed the staff upon check out about these items but they seem as uninterested in us as they did when we checked in. Carpark is guaranteed but not always available undercover and is $28 per day.
