Clean but lots of little mediocre things
good news, it's a standard courtyard type hotel, clean sheets, etc. Lots of mediocre things: internet connect was TERRIBLE and inconsistent. I called the front desk and they could not care less. The food and menu in the bar was awful along with stale popcorn and snacks and terrible decorating. Very noisey room with lots of humming noises. And finally, airconditioning was that old style - you can only turn it ON and select a dial number or OFF. Very difficult to get a good nights sleep. The rooms are not sound proofed, I can heard kids right now and I write this. The location is not idea - it's a walk to the water for sure. I was not impressed although it could be worse.

Fresh and Functional

Large, lovely and well appointed guest rooms are very welcoming, as is the staff. Behold: simple wi-fi that is free and easy to access. The only thing missing is a free shuttle to LAX.

A nice get away
Never being to Cali I was thrilled when I got to the hotel and was greeted with smiling faces and a friendly staff. They upgraded my room to my requests, and I was able to kick my feet back for 5 nights In a nice room with a balcony. As I work in the hospitality industry, I feel good service can sometimes seem hard to come by ( Actual good service ). But the staff at the hotel were amazing. Julie at the desk was super nice, and did a great job at helping with places to go in the area. She defiantly knows what it means to work in this industry. The courtyard / pool area was clean and relaxing. And overall I had a great experience at the hotel. Good job to everyone for maintaining a great culture through the transition from a Marriott to a Hilton property.

Hotel Marina Del Rey
Fairly good hotel for the value. Was clean. Was a little noisy in the early A.M due to delivery trucks in the back parking lot. The hotel abuts a shopping plaza. Housekeeping failed to leave us coffee on one of the mornings. Nor did they provide us with glasses on the final day. We were told to go to the lobby if we wanted coffee. By the time my husband brought the coffee back to the 5th floor, it was getting cold. Otherwise the MDR was a satisfactory hotel.

Disappointed financially
I was thoroughly disappointed in the parking fee and the fact that they are now charging to use the bicycles. This had always been free with the hotel room. The room charges I believe have gone up and extra charges for the parking and bikes puts this facility out of financial range for me, for what you get.
