The location of this place isn't so bad, given if you want to be close to Manhattan and Brooklyn. I went for a business trip and found it very close to the Union St. subway stop and a few blocks from pretty good restaurants, etc. The breakfast was also pretty decent for a budget hotel, with hot and cold items, and a very odd pancake machine. Coffee was terrible, but then again, there was at least coffee. :-)I think the major downside was the noise in the hotel. I was at the back of the hotel - which I recommend you asking for - and so the street noise was nonexistent. Unfortunately, I was right across from the elevator and could hear people coming and going well into the early hours. Not fun. So, If you are looking for a budget hotel, decent breakfast, centrally located and ask for a room at the back and far away from the elevator, you should have a good stay. Rooms were clean and updated, and the bed was pretty comfy. Also they had a nice variety of toiletries and a hair dryer, free wi-fi, etc. All in all good but not great. I don't think they had a fitness center, which was a bummer if you are there for a couple days and want to run or whatever.

The hotel is locate in a kind of weird neighborhood ....nothing like in the pictures that's a completely different hotel....Front desk ok....charge incidentals with out your permission ....At the check out moment they charge your cc with no chance to change method of payment ...Housekeeping start knocking your door @ 8 or 9 am no matter if you are getting ready to leave the hotel that day....they don't wait until check out time....that's rude!!! The breakfast room ok....staff helping in the breakfast room very nice that's the only good thing about it...Just 1 elevator ....get ready to wait more than 5 min to go upstairs or otherwise take stairs!!!

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for a business trip this week. I was not expecting much but the Hotel was not only clean and updated, the breakfast was not bad at all. The best part is the staff. Every person that works the front desk was so pleasant and helpful. I am so impressed with the service they all provide. The rooms are clean and comfortable as well. I would definitely stay again. The neighborhood is mostly warehouses but a short walk to nice restaurants and shops make this a hidden gem.

the hotel is set in what I would describe as a lower income area graphite everywhere, bars on windows, etc etc. There was no pool and no fitness center within the hotel. When I checked in, I received a hidden $26.00 parking fee that I did not see advertised when I booked online through Priceline. There were restaurants that you could walk to but no chain restaurants around like Dennys, red lobster etc, and I couldnt imagine walking this area with my kids and family. The staff was friendly and the room was clean, the internet was fair. I wouldnt stay more than one night and definitely not with my family.

Incident happened on 22nd May, 2013. My car key and the chargers of my electronic items were stolen in my room. I kept all these items in the drawer NOT an open area. Means someone has the key / card to go into my room to steal things without breaking the lock. I reported the incident to the hotel manager and requested to call police. He refused my request and stopped me to do that. He promised to look into the CCTV for me. However, after 1 week, he hasn't got back to me and no follow up call. I have to pay over $1500 CAD to get all the replacements. A big "NO" to stay in the hotel.
