A magnificent location in Rome
As we travel quite frequently to Rome, we are also frequently disappointed by its hotels: la Minerve is a most notable exception. It is indeed immune from the two main problems of most other Roman hotes: its furniture is tasteful rather than inspired by a tourist's idea of imperial Rome. And the location is superb, not only very close to the all the important points in the central area, but magnificent by itself. The hotel faces the jewel known by the true Romans and the "little chick of the Minerva", it is in view of the Pantheon and at a 5 minutes walk from Piazza Navona: one could not ask for more. The service matches these good qualities. We particularly appreciated the late check-out time, 1:00 p.m., that simplifies the organization of the last day.

I love this hotel
I have been to this hotel many times since 1998 and it never disappoints. From the lovely smiling welcome of the very smart doorman (who has been there ever since I started staying here and is a Lenny Henry look-alike) to the traditional Italian feel of the reception, lobby and rooms.The position is excellent, a few paces to The Pantheon and it's piazza. The Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps are about 15 mins walk and you can more or less reach most places in central Rome by walking from this hotel.In the summer months, the rooftop bar is open and that is a lovely treat in the cooler evening air.The rooms are small as are the lifts but all SO Italian with beautiful sheets and linens. Many bars and restaurants nearby so that makes life easy too.Rome right now is exceptionally busy for April and we thought it must be to do with the new pope. We passed The Vatican very early in the morning (approx 6am) on the way to the airport and groups and queues were already in abundance.My favourite city in Europe and I never tire of it. I don't see any point in staying anywhere else than this hotel.

Wonderful Hotel
Stayed over New Years 2012 for 10 days with my family celebratiung our 50th anniversary. The staff was so very helpful. They upgraded all three roooms for my children and grandchilren and alkso upgraded opur jr. suite to a suite. They very solicitous and recommended some really good family restaurants and sites to see. We had stayed st the hotel five years ago and wre satisfied but this triop the staff made it exceptional. At the heart
At the heart of Rome this hotel sits next to the beautiful church De la Minerva. The church, the hotel and the Pantheon all sit as neighbors around a beautiful little plaza with a fountain in the center. I remember sitting at this fountain watching the people go by as the sun warmed my skin. A moment I will never forget. From this plaza you can walk anywhere in the old center of Rome. This hotel is full of old world charm. I had my own balcony to enjoy the sun in my very plush terry robe. Everything about the hotel is real, real brass doorknobs, real marble, real old world porcelain, real flowers, real fresh towels in the public bathrooms, real solid wood furniture, real old world chandeliers. Nothing plastic about this hotel!

3 star at best
Dont stay in this hotel if you are looking for luxury. All traces of what was once a palace have been eradicted. Shabby reception, dark dungeon like breakfast room (at 35 euros per head which is essentially a continental breakfast with scrambled egg). I was extremely disappointed to say the least. We paid 600 euros per night for a suite. It was not worth it. Laminate floors, cheap curtains, uncomfortable saggy bed, not enough wardrobe space, the room felt cold and damp. To say we felt slightly ripped off is an understatement.
