Convenient location, but there are some shady characters...
Convenient location, but there are some shady characters who live there near the rear of the hotel and on 3rd floor (smokers). Last year, 2 guests had a big screamfest in the parking lot.

Going a Step above -- An Addendum
A recent stay landed me in the hospital. While hospitalized the staff fed and checked on my pet three times a day. When I returned, they supplied me with extra pillows and a wonderful soft blanket. One would not expect this from from a motel. Mr. Kim works diligently to repair rooms. He also exchanged my refrigerator and microwave for newer versions. I have traveled extensively for work and pleasure and have had a great deal of experience organizing events in hotels. This has turned out to be a long-term stay I could not have predicted.The location is close to Seattle and beautiful Edmonds. The front desk provides a typewritten list of local restaurants and area attractions that have been well researched and one would expect to get from a concierge. There are many restaurants and attractions for all ages in the area.

Caring owner & staff -- be aware of safety
This appears to be family owned with an experienced hired staff who are courteous and caring. Superior quality breakfast items for this type of motel. High qualtity detergents are used to wash bedding and towels. Repairs to toiets and sinks made promptly. Generally, the guests are nice, traveling for vacation or business or in transition during a move, or receiving medical care from two nearby hospitals. Managment tries to discourages questionable occupants and police presence is swift and patrols are regular through the parking lot througout the day and evening.Warning -- bring your own cleaning materials for bathtub and toilet. Prepare for the occasional night where noise cannot be located and your sleep is disrupted.by an inconsiderate occupant.

Needed a hotel to accommodate two vehicles
We were originally booked to stay in the Northgate Travelodge, but the manager wouldn't approve of us having two vehicles in the parking lot. We were going to a show in Seattle and both had to work the following day. We had to drive in opposite directions and needed both our vehicles. We did not know that we could only park one of our vehicles in their parking lot when we booked the hotel so we canceled our reservation. We were afraid to get our vehicle towed. We called the corporate office to complain and they called the Edmonds location to make sure we could park both cars in their lot. We were very grateful for the assistance on the phone. The Travelodge by the Space Needle informs us that parking is $15.00, but other places do not state a parking issue. I think this is something that needs to be stated on the hotel information site.
